This game seems to be a tipping point.
Does the team show up and earn a win or do we see what we've seen the rest of the season?

I see the Philly game as more rock bottom for now. They’re going to come home, try to take a breather and see if things are better just being off the road. The Flyers are going to get the jump on them in a hurry and the home crowd will be all over them. What happens next probably determines the course of the rest of the month (and probably season).

You know Torts will have them ready to go right from puck drop.
This could get ugly if the Leafs can't weather the early storm.

If they manage to get back on track I think it will be as a result of getting jumped by Philadelphia at home and having the wrath of the crowd on top of them.

Philly gets the NYR today ... So Leafs get Philly on the back end of a back to back with likely their backup goalie Felix Sandstrom.

Hard imagine Leafs not winning this one and taking the heat off with a big win.

Holmberg has been good despite the low point totals. Very good defensively and making plays defensively to make the puck go the other way. Not the player I would have called up but makes sense in our shoes right now.

I assume this means the Leafs want Nylander, Kerfoot and Jarnkrok back on the wings.

This is game #10 after Matt Murray was placed on LTIR, so he has now qualified to be taken off injury reserve any time he is ready.

Has there been any news at all of his return to the ice and Leafs practice?

Can they afford to bring him back?

It will be interesting to see if Keefe is allowed to use the Robertson - Nylander - Malgin line again, or if management is still more concerned about image than winning.

Wait, does this mean we are back to our smurf plan from training camp.
So confusing, Last week we needed toughness, the week before smurfs....

Torts will have Philly ready to go while our coach has proven he NEVER has them ready to start on time. If Samsonov can keep the puck out early while the players finally break a sweat the leafs got a chance. If the first shot goes in or something like that the team just may get booed off the ice, which I’m sure is fine by them as Marner gets to flip us all the bird again.

Yes I’m getting a little cynical here but it’s all I got left for this team. Luckily the Raptors are just a button on the remote away and they play with a lot of emotion, guts, and heart

Excited to see Holmberg play. I think he can easily step in and play on our fourth line right now. Moves Kampf back up to the third line.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Robertson - Tavares - Nylander
Kerfoot - Kampf - Jarnkrok
Engvall - Holmberg - Aube Kubel

Rielly - Brodie
Sandin - Holl
Giordano - Kral

Would like to see this.

I can't even imagine what this place will look like if we lose to the Flyers now

Leafs have currently lost 4 straight and the last time they lost 6 straight they fired their coach.

A loss to Philly would take that up to 5 straight losses.

The Flyers are the easiest of their next 4 opponents. As Boston and Carolina sit at the top of the Atlantic and Metro Divs.

Well they may as well call marlies up, the bottom 6 has been terrible. Steeves is probably better, but I guess they want the center

He played them 10 mins and they lost?

Nylander-JT is our best 5 on 5 line

Last year the Leaf were #2nd overall in Goals for with a rate of 3.8 GF/g and this year they sit #27th overall with a 2.7 GF/g.

This years teams scores at -1 goals for per game on average.

With each passing year the depth gets weaker and weaker.
