Leafs havent been soft for the last few years. This year, even more so. I'd argue we're one of the tougher teams in the league, in terms of physicality.

Where did you see this being said?

I read it at least once in other teams GDT's. Was this post in the Flyers GDT that made me comment that

"There are many bands from Toronto, but I thought this one most fits the butt-paper soft nature of the Leafs. Thank you for your understanding."

Leafs have been bullies for a few years now. We were tougher than the Bruins last year too but the Leafs haters will never admit it

90% of the NHL is soft then

this is getting past the intention of a gdt conversation but let's be real here, this franchise has a comically bad record in potential and actual elimination games over the entirety of the salary cap era. We're low hanging fruit and have to earn our way out of being the butt of the joke by actually winning on occasion when it matters most. Until then expect to be viewed as soft, mostly from a mental standpoint.

One thing I’ve noticed this year, somewhat different from past. When we get these scrambly moments out front, the D and forwards do a better job negating their forwards on those loose pucks. We tend to diffuse these situations better, rather than getting pushed off and seeing ugly goals.

I wonder when the "Leafs are butter soft" narrative will finally die with other fan bases?
When they win a Cup. That's it. When that happens, and it will happen with this current group, all of the narratives will immediately change. No different than it did with Tampa 5 years ago, Detroit in the 90s, and even the Oilers in the early 80s.

All I want is one, but if the hockey gods want to bestow on me 2 or 3 cups in a row, I promise to use my powers wisely on the mains

And then teams will start to build like us.

Tbh I don't really see it much anymore, what's your reasoning for saying this, did you see a few posts about it?

I saw it on the Habs board after we beat them up last game. They were complaining about getting bullied by a team as soft as the Leafs. TBF, it's the Habs board.
