Friedman: Flyers interested in Nicolas Hague

Not sure why there's so much antagonism towards acquiring Hague from Flyers fans.

He's pretty decent. Hasn't been able to prove he's a top 4 D due to the Knights insane depth on defense, but he's been solid.

I wonder if something based around Hague for Tippett could work for both teams.

My anecdotal observation was he’d been good in playoffs, but his advanced metrics are basically team worst for all D-man on VGK during regular and postseason the last couple years

Interesting. How much of that has to with their depth versus his play? I'm not trying to pump his stock. Again, I think he's a #4 guy tops. Just curious.

Anyone Vegas uses to replace him will cost more for the same production if found in UFA. If they replace with an ELC it won’t be as bad.

We have Kaedan Korczak who the only reason he isn't full time in NHL is the log jam we have in D. He has a good caphit of $825,000 through next season.

That's Rick Tocchet hockey baby. Put everything on the forwards to get the puck out and move it to the offensive zone. Or just get Quinton Hughes to do it. Whichever.

They would have to trade York or Zamula in the Hague deal. Neither would be missed terribly.

York is way better than Zamula. They should be keeping him, Sanheim, and Andre. Trading most others.

Him and Whitecloud both. It's really puzzling to me. They were never *the* guys on that blueline but they were good enough at a time Vegas was fairly considered one of the best defenses in the league with room to grow. Instead of growing past the cup win, it feels like they're getting worse every year.

Yeah i think that was the VGK 3rd pairing but it was regarded as a good 2nd pairing in terms of level of play for them in the cup run

Dirt cheap Struble is overpayment considering he wants 4.5 million for a 15 point defenseman. Plus we have plenty of size and more coming from the AHL.

I'm not sure why HuGo thinks a zero offense defenseman is important for us and particularly in todays NHL. We had one in Savard and most of us wanted him gone.

With the extra picks they have, it’s an obvious fit. Vegas may want actual prospects instead though, after trading so many away.

The Flyers also have to be careful, as that would give them 2 Dmen with arbitration rights, who likely win their cases. So they may have to overpay Hague and York this summer.
