He was an above average NHL starter in his 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th NHL seasons with the Flyers. He was horrendous in his 3rd season and just a bit below average in his 4th season. Overall his career .906 save percentage would be a game-changer for the Flyers this season.
I mean, compared to what we have so far this season, sure, but Ersson is capable of playing .906 puck.

Healthy Ersson is fine as a young stopgap. The other two are mediocre even in the KHL and the Fedorov contract is just weird. But Bjarnason and Zavragin are a top 5 young prospect duo IMO and are good fits for the rebuild which is really just beginning.

As Flyers fans have mentioned…nobody thought the contracted goalies would be any good, they aren’t, and that’s fine.

Right I get that, but was he officially found guilty and doing time or anything like that? I cant imagine hes free and just simply quit hockey.
The trial is set for sometime in the coming year. I guess the rumors of the Canadian justice system being backlogged are true. I did hear in the summer, he wasn't even allowed to travel to Nashville(or to leave Canada at all), but some of the other players in that scandal are playing in the KHL.

Remind me again when was the last time any Flyers fan thought they had a good goalie? Even the rapist dude was ok but still got a lot of hate. Bryz had a moment when he looked really good, but once he let in one soft goal it was over. Im not saying Philly is the goalie cemetery because of the fans, but it has to be part of it? Maybe im wrong?
Steve Mason had solid numbers three years in a row, thats how long its been.

Was there ever an explanation for why they gave Fedotov $3.275M after just 3 NHL starts (where he had a 4.95 and .811)?
Same agent as Michkov I think, so they could be buying some good will with him.

Torts could resort to everyone is goalie and all trap and retreat system and it would help the goalies numbers but, the team would still probably me mid AF and less entertaining. Flyers show up and battle at least. They generate a lot of rush chances but, just don't finish as much without elite talent.

Man, the Flyers goalies are rocking some 80's goalie stat lines

Errsson = 7-6-2 with 3.28 GAA and .872 sv pct (+1 SO)
Kolosov = 4-6-1 with 3.34 GAA and .878 sv pct
Fedotov = 4-4-1 with 3.48 GAA and .877 sv pct

From what I have seen from Flyer highlights and a few games they all look as terrible as those stats would indicate

Flyers D is not good but the goaltending in Philly this year seems to be a notch above rest of league in how terrible they are

Why are they even carrying 3 goalies at this point?
As for three goalies They are afraid someone would claim Fedotov at 3.25 million at 2 years (insert laugh track).

Ersson it might just be 2nd year goalie blues. It happens. Kolosov a year early and changing to NA ice you hope is the issue.

Long term you hope Zavragin or Bjarnason can play cause no one on the roster is a starting nhl playoff goalie.

My theory is a good chunk of that money went to other people in Russia.

The contract also has signing bonuses paying most of the salary up front.

This makes sense. Surprised there hasn't been more scrutiny on that and the Michkov release clause. I still don't understand how they paid that without being in direct conflict with US sanctions lol
