GDT: Flyers @ Devils - 7:00 PM - TNT, TRUTV, MAX

I get what you are saying but....

How do we know Bratt could've scored there with the goaltender having most of the net covered?

For all we know, the Goaltender would've made the save and the 5th goal doesn't happen.

Bratt back to Hughes was not a case of one-pass-too-many.

It was a case of Bratt making the right decision.

I agree with that, I was pointing out that sometimes what seems like 'one pass too many' is the right play and it doesn't work out - this time it did. It's much easier to think a decision is good when it results in a goal, but most good offensive choices don't.

Even Matt and Chico made that comment on the goal, too. A bit more passing than they'd like to see, but can't complain when it works out.

If Dillon is going to not be good at hockey, I need him blowing people up on the daily like last night.
Dillon did start the season looking for big hits, but we saw some big misses resulting in advantages for the opposition.

But I agree he needs to play physical(and drop the gloves too), especially when teams start to turn up the physicality against us. It's a huge reason as to why he was brought in.

I was left speechless seeing the score last night! saw the highlights... this is what we're capable of!!!

Hopefully this births some new noise leading to the break!!!

And it ain't a coincidence on the day of, when Keefe gives the guys a hard practice or a chew out, they respond fantastically!

I could not agree more. That give and go was a thing of beauty. My wife even made a comment on how great that play was.

The amount of love Tuna has been getting from the team on Instagram for his 900th game has been awesome to see. He's definitely beloved by the boys in the room.

I wish he buried that breakaway chance (hell of an effort, better save by Ersson) but boy did I love him leveling Sanheim immediately afterwards.

its pretty clear to me that the social team tells the guys when to share stuff to their stories lol

I know Money Puck glitched, but Allen with the absurd 5.9 GSax
I noticed that (they’ve been having issues since at least Tuesday now) and I definitely have a hard time believing it was quite that much.

I can’t see him having an expected almost 6 goals against for the entire game, but I could see about 4. We were pretty terrible in the 1st period. Pretty much until we got that power play with under a minute left.

I wouldn’t surprised if he had an expected goals of 2 in the 1st period. But if they really have him for close to 6 the whole game then they’d probably have him down for closer to 4 in the 1st period.

Timo's last 21 games: 17 points (6 goals, 11 assists), shooting 12% believe it or not. Since the move for the Boston game, he's got 6 points in 4 games. He's averaging about 2-3 shots a game in that longer stretch, so he could maybe be getting even more pucks to the net. But it's clear by his advanced numbers and his overall point totals that he's continuing to do all the things you want from him.

This is the type of player I envisioned. I'd like to see him get some more puck luck goal wise, but he's playing exactly how I expected him to when healthy.

When he’s engaged physically and shit talking, he does his best work.

@Bleedred can say what he wants  but he's absolutely someone I'm glad we have back there. We've been through the wringer at this position for the past several years. To have two veteran guys who can step up and perform is going to be invaluable down the stretch.

He has his flubs, every goalie typically does, but he stepped up in a big way last night.

Allen is (ignoring the jacked numbers from last night) more or less a 25th-40th best goalie in the league territory guy with an affordable contract. Absolutely ideal backup.
I’m not completely against re-signing him for next year. f*** handing Daws a spot, unless Daws does something this year to show he’s ready for next year. And he surely isn’t doing that in the AHL.

I just worry that if Allen is good enough for us to want to re-sign it probably means that he’ll cost more, probably more than he costs this year, at least more than what we are giving him this year, since his cap hit is close to $4 million with Montreal’s retention. Not sure what his actual dollars are.

I definitely wouldn’t want him back at more than one year though.

Depends on the players. Bratt to Hughes, and vice versa, have more leeway. But what we saw last night is pretty much the layout for that combo. Bratt doesn't get a ton of shots off, but leads the team in 5v5 assist rate and primary assist rate, 9th and 13th in the league in those categories. Jack leads the team in shot rate. Bratt also has the teams best on ice shooting %. So it's working.

Now if that were Bastian trying to return a feed from Lazar? Nah Fish. Extreme example, but really anyone besides Bratt and Jack.

If he would've buried that, the pass from Bratt would've made the highlight reel as much as Tuna's goal.

Missed oppty there. Drat!
