The lockout season throws it off by a year. I always remember the 30th anniversary patches on the '03-'04 jerseys. We'll see if they commemorate the 40th as embarrassingly as that one.

There are some semantics behind it. This is the 40th Anniversary Year, just not the 40th Season. Someone down the road will make that mistake in an official capacity.

circa 2073
Our inaugural season was in 1973, which makes this our 100th season.

Of course we will probably have sat through 5 or so 1 year long lockouts by then, so they will be used to having to remember those years

But will we have won a Stanley Cup by then?

Should of just gave away the puck, he had a penalty shot.

Oates doesn't want to try anything new, instead of trying a left handed shooting defenseman and a left handed shooter in the slot keeps using right handed shots.

Byers is looking like the first LW callup to me. Dare I say regardless if Oats needs a scorer or checker

He and Strachan are both making strong bids for a spot. I'd probably have Byers over Volpatti at this point, though Byers needs to be signed first.
