Outerspace
Sooooooonk.

He was on the short list. Really Good ES production.

After debating selecting him the previous two rounds, Chicago selects Michael La Starza. We're hoping the USHL and his low scoring teammates are suppressing his true offensive ceiling. He outscored some notable names at Shattuck.

Big Celly guy.

@Rebels57 is up.

That scorpion celly is a winner

Carolina selects Jérémy Langlois.

Another guy we debated about selecting for a couple rounds. Langlois breaks a personal rule of drafting older CHL players, but only Tony Deangelo and Evan Bouchard had a higher ES primary point involvement in their draft year since 2008. It's a decent gamble at this stage.

Cape Breton is not Twitter friendly so sorry no clips.

@CutOnDime97 is up.

Lou L: Minion!
Steve Pellegrini: Yes master?
LL: We only have one pick left.
SP: Yes master.
LL: So do you know what we need?
SP: A defenseman with size? A goalie?
LL: A Horcoff.
SP: You mean a horcrux?
LL: No, a horcoff. Yzerman has one, get me one.

1654732917478.jpeg

Shawn's internal elation: Yes yes yes! Pick me! Get me away from this lunatic singing bad lyric'ed versions of Stealers Wheel songs.

SP: We can't pick management, just undrafted players.

shawn.png

Shawn's internal eternal disappointment: F*** you minion.

LL: Alright then, I want a house elf.
SP: A house elf?
LL: Yes, someone to do menial chores like fetch my laundry.
SP: *mumbling* I don't think you read these books well. *louder* Very well master, we shall select a house elf for you!
LL: Excellent!

SP: A little overaged, a little undersized, but worth the risk at this stage...

With the 173rd pick of the NHL Entry Draft, the Islanders select from the Tri-City Storm LW Jeremy Wilmer.

1654733588515.jpeg

NY Islanders
1 - 13 - Pavel Mintyukov, LHD - Saginaw Spirit, WHL
2 - 63 - Filip Bystedt, C - Linköping HC, SHL
3 - 77 - Bryce McConnell-Barker, C - Sault St. Marie, OHL
5 - 141 - Cole Spicer, C - Minnesota-Duluth, NCAA
6 - 173 - Jeremy Wilmer, LW - Tri-City, USHL

And that's the final pick for the Islanders.

@BigToe , follow our little winger.

Also, thanks to @Captain Dave Poulin for the Lou-demort and @Chinatown88 for the unauthorized hijacking of their assistant GM.

In what was a tough and disappointing year, Mr. Duckworth would like thank his head coach, Gordon Bombay, assistant coach Charlie Conway, and director of scouting Adam Banks. Jessie and Terry Hall were instrumental in scouting the CHL, and head European scout Les Averman really helped us find some hidden gems across the pond. We're going to get these kids to the weight room as soon as possible to workout with strength and conditioning coaches Fulton Reed and Dean Portman. We've recently brought in Julie Gaffney to be the goaltending coach, and Dwayne Robertson to work his magic on the Power Play. We feel that we have rejuvenated this team with an injection of talent, some of whom should make an immediate impact. Ducks fly together! Quack! Quack! Quack!

What pairing of names will Sweeney go for with the two seven round picks to match with Alexander/Aleksanteri and Niklas/Niks? Do we have some Yegor/Igor combo in store?
