shut the hell up about matthews and marner. A goal doesn't come without an assist (almost always), an assist doesn't happen without a goal

who gives a crap about "nornal passes", I could just say Matthews took "normal shots" on the 1st and 2nd goal

Most difficult primary assist leading to a Matthews goal today was the one by Liljegren. Should we give Liljegren 11 million? Name a leaf player who couldn't make today's pp pass to Matthews that Marner made?

Hate to burst your bubble but Matthews and Marner were split up for 10 consecutive games this year. In those 10 games, Matthews scored 12 goals. That's a much better pace without Marner than with. They were put back together because Marner struggles to produce with anybody but Matthews.

Marner is riding Matthews coat tails. Make basic pass, and the best goal scorer in the world turns it into a scoring chance. If Marner is such an incredible playmaker, why can't he set anyone else up?

No one else has any finish on this team. Especially centers.

Tavares had a career high in goals the instant he played with Marner.

Matthews has the most goals in the league since he entered the league and like 90% of them have come off the stick of 16.

Naw he did a booboo a few games ago too when he made a tape to tape pass to the opposition and then skated past the guy missing a hit to give them a 2 on 1.

But he does so much solid stuff we let a few of them slide.

Not really, I get it.

But you can't discount greatness that way. MacD is fantastic and hasn't won anything, he is still pretty freaking good. OV has won one. Should we discount those too?

I wanna win as much as the next guy but seeing a Leaf at the top of the scoring race almost regularly now is sweet. He will easily be the best Leaf scorer of all time and that deserves a fist pump.
