Giroux-Couturier-Voracek
Weal-Patrick-Simmonds
Weise-Filppula-Konecny
Leier-Laughton-Raffl

Might as well change their numbers to 76 and 78.

I'll hold off reservations until we officially know what is official, but it should be interesting to see how some find a way to defend Hextall's decision and be upset that Sanheim didn't make the team over AMac and Manning.

That 3rd line is going to get their doors blown off at ES. Even Konecny isn't particularly good at ES right now and I'm most hopeful of him of the three, obviously.

How do you deploy those forwards? Is Weal-Patrick-Simmonds going to get top line matchups when you can? Or....god help us....Filppula's?

I don't get the love for Weise at all. As far as I am concerned he is in the lineup because of his contract, not for his impact. I would far prefer to see Lindblom up here in his place and given the chance to adjust to the pace of the NHL.

I don't have anything against Filppula but I will not mind if he is moved at the deadline, especially if they are out of it. And I would prefer they make no attempt to re-sign him. It would be really nice to see Vorobyev (hopefully this year) and Rubtsov (hopefully next).

This is becoming a bad sign that this might be what the lineup might be...
It doesn't look as though Lindblom will start in the NHL.

I'll say Lindblom and Sanheim are probably the ones leaving when they should be staying in favor of Read and Manning.

Sanheim vs Manning is not the call. It's MacDonald. Manning is the 7D and just fine in that role. The only thing I would dislike more than sending him down is having him in the press box.

Poor Konecny. Hakstol will probably blame him for the line's play and bench him again.

The best center on the Flyers is playing left wing now.

Hakstok doesn't know how to put a lineup together.

This is comically bad, heading into the season...
I hope it leads to a firing by the end of November

I like that 4th line, a lot actually.

Yep that 4th line looks like one of the better ones I have seen the Flyers dress. In the past I have knocked Taylor Leier, but he deserves a shot to play with Laughton after the way the two played together in LV. Plus the young man outplayed Matt Read,( yeah I know that was not to hard to do).

I watched all but the split squad game, but I didn't see enough from lindblom to get upset over him not making the team. Was good along the boards, but didn't have the confidence in close that I was hoping for. I'm okay with him playing 1LW in LHV with Voro for a little. I'd also like to see weise with two good players for a 10 game trial to see what weise were getting. For me, it's top 9 or healthy scratch for him. I don't want to see him on the fourth line.

Gonna have to fire Hextall then too. I'm sure his fingerprints are all over this.

Weise has a history of being a solid 3rd line guy who can give you 25-30 points but disappears on a 4th line, probably because his game is predicated on doing the "dirty" work for more skilled players and he can't carry lesser talents on a line. He's a good fit with Filppula and Konency because Filp is a playmaker and Konency is a scorer - his job will be to forecheck, pass to a more skilled player then head to the net and set screens.

Manning has played well and deserves to stick as our 7th . Amac should be the one sent down along with Read. If Lindblom is not on our top six then he has to go to LV and get a ton of minutes. The same for Sanheim. I would like to see him stay on the club to but if Hextall feels he needs some more time in the AHL so be it.

Lindblom was one of their best forwards in the Tuesday game vs New York. Aside from scoring a goal he did all of the little things right and could have scored 1 or 2 more. You could tell he was finally feeling comfortable in that game.

What does the coaching staff do rather than seeing if he can build off of that?

Scratch him the next 2 games then send him to the AHL while a bum like Dale Weise skates in his place.

Lindblom in the AHL also guarantees our PP1 is going to be brutal. What we saw in preseason from them with Filppula in the slot was not an abberation. Without a threat to score in the slot, Giroux, Voracek, and Ghost are going to have even less time.

What were you watching? Aside from scoring in his last game, Manning has been comically bad this preseason. Like worse than ever before. Even Boxcar has noticed that.

That said, Sanheim was always competing against Morin, Hagg, and MacDonald for a roster spot; Manning is press box fodder.

I've been saying all along he will be gone by 1/1/2018 and I am sticking with that.

This likely lineup going into game 1 only re-affirms that for me.

His decisions have made us weaker at LW, C, and D than we really are.

To be fair to Manning, he was working his way into shape off back surgery.
But he's still too aggressive on offensive given his skill set.

With how Hakstol loves Manning and MacDonald and with how well Morin has played as well as Sanheim and knowing Gudas and Provorov are locks,I wonder if Ghost is the one on the outside looking in? Or maybe he's on the trade block?

Provorov MacDonald
Morin Sanheim
Manning Gudas
Hagg

I hope not, but it's very clear Hakstol still isn't a fan of Ghost. And poor Konecny, guy has been a beast in the preseason and now gets saddled with that crap? Way to reward him!
