Montreal sorta helped us

Gave only 1 point so we remain 2 points ahead

Tampa up 3-1 though so they likely go to 1 behind us

Last time the Leafs won the division (not including the bubble divisions) was 2000. It'll be amusing if they win it this year with a much weaker division (points-wise) compared to past years. Maybe a good omen for Berube and co.?
Extrapolating to the end of the season, the division will end up with a total of 726 points, compared to 748 last year and 761 the year before (when Boston went crazy).

I'm not sure a drop of less than 3 points per team qualifies as "much weaker".

(In 2000 they won with 100 points, which is 4 behind their current pace. 100 points this year would likely leave them in 3rd.)

Isn't it all relative?

This next 8 days is like a pre-playoff playoff round.
It’d be sure nice to have good vibes all over the place come next Thursday.

Big game tonight. Florida on a back end of a back to back coming off a loss. An opportunity for us to extend our lead in first place.

Meaning, we’re loosing this one 100%…

If I said this is a milestone measuring stick game, it would be considered an underestimate statement on the importance of the outcome and the process and play within to gauge current competitiveness.

Elbows UP Leafs.

I don't know if Florida is playing poorly or resting for the playoffs, but they lost to Montreal last night. Is Montreal better than we think and playing them 1st round makes me wonder. I don't know if we want Toronto to win the Atlantic division or not.

This will be a WHOSE YOUR DADDY kinda game .. we need to show Cats who their daddy is .. so they know and understand .. either way so far my FAV game of season and can't wait to GO train downtown for pre-game steak
I thought that the last time they met. Leafs played well that game but it wasn't enough.
Hopefully they can take it to them tonight but you know, even though the Panthers are on a back to back, they won't be laying down in this one.

I could see the difference tonight being Tavares and Nylander dominating the easier matchup.

We probably wouldn't face Montreal anyways, they're still too far behind Ottawa at this point and we're definitely not surpassing Washington either.

We do, 100%. Avoid both of the Florida teams in round one is a must.

They're unlikely to catch the Senators at this point, and Toronto would still have to win the division. If it did happen though, of course I'd be nervous. Then again, I'm going to be nervous regardless who the Leafs play because they've proven that they can't beat anybody.

The one glass-half-full factor should these two teams meet is that the Habs won't have Carey Price this time around.

Montreal is playing very well but if I had a choice, they'd be the team I'd want to play, followed by Ottawa, Tampa and Florida. Win the division and lose to Montreal or Ottawa in round 1 and this core would need to be blown up.

They also do not have that hulking defence that played in front of Price. There are no excuses losing to the Habs.

I'm not nervous as I have low expectations as they have failed me everytime
