Right track or not they should come into this series with all the urgency they can, no guarantee how much runway is left here, to use a mixed metaphor… although next year I think Florida will not be able to keep their band all together either.
There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING that will flip the narratives surrounding this group 180 than beating Florida in a convincing fashion.

Hoping for the best, but not expecting it. This will be a very tough series for the Leafs. I expect Florida to come out tonight swinging and finishing every single check. Let’s hope our guys can respond! GLG!

Hopefully the camera will show Shrek in the audience tonight. His brother is in the second round after all.

As luck would have it, we're essentially facing the Stanley Cup favorites in the second round.

This series will be a true litmus test as to how close we are to reaching the ultimate goal.

The fatigue of having a kid doesn't set in for a few months. If anything, the guy will be so jacked up on adrenaline that he will have off the charts energy.
Your first line is embarrassing. Really embarrassing.

He could have planned to have a baby during the regular season too. It does seem like mitch only cares about mitch. Ohhh well. Hopefully he shows up in the first few non elimination games before disappearing when it matters
Not sure if you have kids or not, but for most couples that are trying to have children, planning the precise time of conception is practically impossible.

It's a blessing whenever it happens, and it's far more difficult for some couples than others.

Just be happy for the guy.

I doubt they've ever had a date.

Just need a Jarnkrok to pot one or two. He has the shot, but never delivers in the playoffs.
It's too bad, because he and Holmberg are the exact kind of players you need in the playoffs, especially in a tight checking series, but they both produce little to no offense.

Even 3 points every 7 games would be enough

Does anybody really believe the Leafs are gonna win this series.

Even the most ardent of fathful must have their doubts. I mean come on... the players themselves probably think the same thing. Expect the worst hope for the best.

Like going before the judge.

Waiting on your sentence. You know there's gonna be time but don't know how long. Are they gonna be out in four games or seven.

We've seen this episode before.

It didn't end very well the first time. Doesn't look like many think the script has been changed. So they still expect the same ending.

I'll take the high road and say the Leafs in six but I have my doubts.

He has way more offence than a Holmberg, which makes it more frustrating. His line is playing great through, but we're going to need a couple key goals from that line or we aren't winning this series.

During 2019 championship playoff run for the Raptors, Fred Van Vleet had a horrific first 2 rounds of the playoffs. In round 3, his wife delivered a baby and Fred was incredible in rounds 3 & 4 - one of the main reasons the Raptors won a championship.

That's so true, he was a bricklayer to start the playoffs then Curry the rest of it.

I had three kids in short succession, so I know something about the topic. This idea that someone, in particular in their 20s or 30s walks around like a zombie during the day after having a kid is a bit overstated. Call me sexist, but more often than not mom is the one waking up multiple times per night if she is breastfeeding. In addition, as money is not an issue in this case, they may have an overnight doula or nurse that helps with feedings. This guy is a professional athlete. His conditioning, nutrition, etc. is off the charts, especially compared to the rest of us. My guess is that it doesn't affect his play at all, and if anything it may improve it because he is riding an incredible high right now.

The only caveat, of course, is if there is ever a problem with a baby right after birth. Anyone who has been in that situation knows that the rest of your life - job, responsibilities, whatever - rightfully becomes a complete afterthought.

You said months not days, hence my eye roll.
I actually think he will get an adrenaline rush here short term.
