Finally a team that sticks up for each other. 12pim for matthews last game 3x his season total. Fckn goon
Typically when the Leafs try to stick up for each other the same way teams like Florida do, they end up on the penalty kill unlike those teams where they give a penalty to both teams. We have seen this numerous times in the playoffs.

If Sheldon is a good coach, he reminds the refs of the penalty count at every opportunity. It's not about tonight, it's about the playoffs and Sheldon has to start sowing the seeds right now.

I hope he realizes just how much a coach plays into which teams are successful and which aren't.

Robertson has warts.
We all know that. But he’s basically a rookie and if given a year or two he could be a real asset.

For whatever reason when we copy other teams it just backfires. Watch keefe do that and refs get upset and continue screwing the leafs as usual

It'll take a few years to convince the refs and the league that we are a tougher/rougher team and that it isn't just a guy or two going rogue.

Eventually we won't get called for every infraction.

Would rather have a team that sticks up for each other than one that just watches a teammate get their head bounced off the ice.

Winning this game is not the main thing .
Its showing up and not being intimidated like last year.
And they are doing just that.

Good period, though

I do half expect it to be 2-2 and the end of the 2nd.

:eek3::rolleyes:;)

He doesn't have that sort of thing in him. The best he can do is offer some sarcastic quips in his post-game interview

It'll change. It takes times to get the perception of what Kyle built out of the system.

Tom Wilson getting a hefty suspension is a start. It'll be slow, but we'll get there.

I’ll take it. It’s so nice to see the team willing. Maybe if they keep it up it won’t seem so out of character the refs will stop reacting the way they do now.
