Of the guys that left either Cup team, Mitchell was clearly the toughest to see go, because he's good, and it was only about the cap. Scuderi wanted to move closer to family. Penner just didn't bring it enough. Bernier was a luxury. Gagne was a spare part.

Live by the cap, die by the cap though. If not for the cap, do the Kings get Mitchell in the first place? Or does a team like the Rangers or Leafs give him $5 million a year, even with the concussion, to be their 7th defenseman, just in case?

Glad Lombardi took the time because he saw something with Mitchell. Glad Mitchell chose the Kings, twice, even before they won twice. Nobody wanted to see him go.

I say 'possibly' because we were willing to give him term when other teams were not (injury risk). But amen to your whole post otherwise.

I would have loved it if Mitchell Retired a King. Rather have him over Greene or RR.

Rocco Grimaldi played an AHL game in Texas earlier today, 0 pts, 3 shots.....will play for Panthers tonight in LA. #Awesome

Apparently, he is a center, born in Anaheim, wears no. 23. Don't know which line he would be put on, so leaving the GDT as is for now.

I don't expect these line combinations to stay intact very long and I don't expect the power play to be very productive, as usual. I'm getting worried that Gaborik is simply turning into the "Gaborik" of old; he's not being pushed very hard and he just seems "not into it" out there. Hopefully I'm wrong but we'll see.

Hey guys just checking in here. This will be his second call up due to injury this year. Well I shouldn't say injury, Barkov appears to be sick and Grimaldi will be filling in. As far as lines for your GDT, we aren't even really sure, but last time this happened, Jokinen filled in at center and Grimaldi played wing on the 4th line. Hope to see a good one tonight. Good luck.

Side note: Mitchell is everything you guys said he would be. We really are lucky to have him.

Thanks for the input, any info is appreciated.

Meanwhile, just FYI, "Daily Faceoff" has been in FAIL mode for the past week, giving me outdated information for both the Kings' lines and for their opponents. I'm going to have to find a better source for lineup information.

Missing our two best offensive players in Pirri and Barkov. I foresee a win for your guys but hopefully we put up a fight.

Good luck, guys.

Oh, and thanks for our captain. Hell of a leader and a battler. Love the dude already.
