unless we are getting an equal talented 2C or LW for Necas, I keep him. he is 22 ffs. I wouldnt be surprised if it were true but i hope Necas and agent arent disgruntled about negotiations.

What's the Canes pipeline/totem pole for centers? Necas, Kotkaniemi, Jarvis?

(It's funny Stepan, Lorentz, Martinook are all legit 4th line centers. lol what an enviable position for so many other teams.)

Prospect / young centers?
If so Kotkaniemi, Drury, Suzuki, Necas, Jarvis. Necas and Jarvis haven’t been groomed for center play so far.

seeing that Suzuki is hurt currently he would slide to last.

Great to see the comeback. Tough to see Aho watch the winning goal with his controller disconnected, he’s supposed to be the leader and can’t give up on that play. Still the goods outweighs the bands.

You guys over rating our center depth based on prospects is reaching pretty epic proportions. Necas isn’t a center. Not currently. Drury is a third line guy if we’re lucky. Staal and Tro gone pretty soon and there’s no reason to assume JK is staying and he hasn’t been a need to sign player based off his play overall yet.

No need to throw ourselves off a bridge quite yet but management has moves to make as we are a veteran team competing for a cup and unlikely to count on prospects.

Agreed.

Right now I look at the team having an A- first line center in Aho (very good but not in same category as Toronto, oilers, Avs, Bolts), very good 4th line centers in Stephan, Jk but well before par 2nd and 3rd line Centers.

Staal has been abysmal this year and Tro is not a top 2nd line center based on his play post injury last year.

We actually could use an upgrade at C for a run this year (presuming PTB want to make a run or setup to peak in future years)

Would it, in your opinion, be a good idea to trade Suzukis? I've seen a same hockey name in another team, I forget which one that was.

And I object. Playing winger with a good center might indeed be grooming for center. I'll say Staal is still that good, or at least good for that.

Your list ordering is interesting and I'll keep heed of that. (english?)

The bolded is where I disagree, having the benefit of a casual fan that keeps looking at developments elsewhere too.

Many, more than one, teams would just kill to have a good 3C, let alone a 4th line like Canes'.

If Drury is a 3C over Kotkaniemi, that's a job well done. If he's not, he'll end up cheaper, and so forth.

Unless we become major players in the trade market, keeping Suzuki is a good option. Bokk and Keane are more likely to be the trade bait. Suzuki should be reevaluated for the rest of the season, whenever he is healthy, and next season. He has good hockey sense and still growing into his height. He is still adjusting to playing with his eye injury. He may be a 2C, he may not.

If Necas and Jarvis start playing center they will quickly move up that list. My guess is Necas wants to play center.

The other suzuki is Nick with Montreal.

I don't want to kill the locker room convo here, but those eyebrows. Just those eyebrows. Killing the world.

Tips to new Canes fans: a good solid comment starts with "I don't even" with meticulous capitalization and punctuation.
