Seems like kind of an odd signing at an odd time. I watched one entire period of camp scrimmages this year but unless I’m mis-remembering it I think I do recall Paul making a few nice plays and being impressed with him.

Sounds like he will stay with his current team this year. Inking him now, since he was a FA for next year. Obviously going to lose a few guys on the back end this season.

I don’t think those are coming.

Flint needs to upgrade Konyens OA spot. Hopefully Konyen can find a spot in the NCAAs.
While I totally agree 100% that Flint should upgrade on Konyen’s OA spot and I see the logic in that I think Flint should be in a hold position right now. They’re currently in 8th and just went nearly 3 straight games without a goal. Unless they can show that they can close the gap considerably in terms of play vs the contending teams I think they need to hit reset and start looking to sell.

I discussed this extensively on Saturday night with the guys in my section. Yes, Day has been great and it likely won’t be easy to find a successor to him and his play. Yes, team defense has been about as good as Flint has ever had. Yes, I think that even one big goal scoring addition like Musty or Pinelli will be greater than the sum of the parts. Pushing players down the lineup along with elevating the play of that individuals line.

My issues are this though….theyre lacking someone that can push the play from the backend. I mean, Mania has just been bad. His decision making, his play along the boards and his lack of actually producing offense. Collins has had his offensive moments and Frolov and Podrekar show potential but they need a D that drives play. It should be Mania but it’s not him and I highly doubt that will change this year.

One of the most obvious things I’ve ever posted here but, they need someone that can finish. Preferably a 1LW. ANNND they need a solid 1C or at minimum 2C.

So that’s 3 big-time spots I feel they need to address before you can really consider them being able to compete with the top teams. They just don’t have the assets to acquire all that. I hope they’ve learned that it’s foolish and a complete waste of assets to go get a Nolan Dann or Oliver Peer type that doesn’t move the needle and won’t get you out of the first round. If you’re not highly confident you can at bare minimum get out of the 1st round it’s idiotic to spend assets.

It’s 1/5 of the way through the season at this point. I’ve been saying it for weeks now…they can right the ship and get me on the “Buy” boat but that time is about over. Now if they start scoring a bit and Coulson is returned….maybe but I’m just not seeing it and I think it’s time to hit reset and move into sell mode.

Well, if nothing else at least Peterborough’s first win of the year won’t come against Flint. Another 3 in 3 weekend. Do we think the boys can double their output from last weekend and score 2 goals? 🙄

I’m not a goalie coach and I don’t watch him in practice every day. I don’t know any behind the scenes info either but it seems like they never really gave the kid a chance. He had a couple rough games but he also showed a bit of potential early last year too. Unfortunate they couldn’t find a landing spot in the O for him and get a small return. Hopefully Jacob finds his form and lands a spot in the NCAA/CIS.
