Nothing about lead ingestion leads to "violent outbursts". It can lead to slow growth, memory loss, irritability, constipation and nausea, but nothing about violent outbursts. If it did, was Lennox drinking some during the London game?

New evidence that lead exposure increases crime

Like I said, we are getting fair and away from hockey discussion. But you are just incorrect. Violent crime rates are higher in cities with lead exposure than similar cities without over time after the exposure.

Is violent crimes higher in areas with the lead poison, due to strictly lead poisoning which causes issues with the brain? Or could issues like poverty levels affect this also? Im going to guess most areas that have lead "issues" have many citizens living at or near the poverty line, which right there, raises the crime rate. I do not believe "lead" is the cause for all crime. Can it be a factor in it, yes, but its not all "Leads" fault.

Is it a touchy subject to joke about, absolutely.

Yeah, I skimmed it. Kinda flawed I think. Probably more of a factor than the actual root cause if you look at it.

Crime in my home town is rising, and its not because of lead. Its from the opioids epidemic. But must be the leads fault aka Rolf's fault aka no one has a clue.

Well it’s not like you’ve ever added any knowledgeable insight into a hockey conversation in your life. Now go tattle.
Just pointing out your hypocrisy. Lead poisoning should not be on the Firebirds thread, particularly when we have a won so many games in a row.

Flint fan making water jokes. The irony.
I was making that joke 30 years ago when I worked in Saginaw and noticed a great number of the people I came in contact with everyday seemed to be in a constant state of agitation.

Uh buddy you brought up the water jokes by trying to make a put down of Saginaw. I was just pointing out how ironic and dumb it was to do so when Flint is literally the poster child for water issues. I dont drive though Saginaw or Detroit and see billboards for ambulance chasing lawyers informing you of your right to sue if your children have mental deficiencies due to lead. That's uniquely Flint. Once again, I'm not trying to bash Flint, it's a serious issue. Was just pointing out your hypocrisy on the issue. Imagine if a Flint player lost it and someone made a comment like that. It's stupid and unnecessary.

As for the article I posted its a scholarly article looking at 3 different university research papers all 3 saying that elevated lead exposure levels lead to higher crime rates in the future. They compared similar cities, meaning both had similar socio economic issues. But the ones with lead exposure had more violent crime down the road (which is all compounded by the other health issues caused by lead exposure). So unless you want to keep burying your head in the sand and saying it's actually because we are poor that's on you, research disagrees.

And as I said already BUD I have been saying that since the early 90's. Just because YOU want to make a leap to Flints water problem don't say I brought up the lead issue. That was totally you.

Reread those scholarly papers again BUD. They show correlation. Correlation does not equal causation. The high incidence of violence in flint and in Saginaw for that matter far predated the elevated lead levels which in truth are a relatively recent occurrence Both are clearly more likely symptom of socio economic deficiencies.

Either way, both teams should play "heavier". Will be good come playoff time when that will wear down teams.

and those billboards are there because its a known issue. A HUGE know issue. You wont see as many in Detroit/Sagnasty/etc because its not as huge/known of an issue. I bet you'll see billboards in Detroit soon for all the issues the contaminated demo dirt will cause. And I'm sure a study will forecast of include mass lawlessness and increases violence, due to this contamination.

I spent a good portion of the season wishing they had kept Uba. Riley Piercey helped alleviate a lot of that though. Glad to see things working out for him, especially when it benefits Flint.
