Well, it wasn’t unexpected after last night but that was incredibly flat performance against a garbage team of nobodies. Hopefully HAyden Fowler isn’t still suspended the next time they meet because they do need to work on their PP.

Pop was great last night.

But Cavallin has been just as good lately. Why go back to back with Pop?

WOW. Not that’s two teams playing some hockey. Pretty easy to respect a team like the Rangers, especially after seeing a squad like Erie the night before. OA phenom Jack “Money” Phibbs with yet another big moment goal. Tucker’s best game of the year with a nice helper from Kressler. Nice to see Ty take a couple nights off from the scoreboard to let the rest of the crew catch up. Wismer just unbelievable again and yes, Jake Durham is back to being Jake Durham. Some nice plays this weekend that won’t show up on the stat sheet too. Popovich really strong two nights in a row. Another 1 of 68. Or actually 7 of 68.

Oh. Something I don’t say in this league often but who the hell are Schein and Scott? I don’t if that’s their usual game or not, but I thought that was some top notch refing too.

Agreed out side of the "trip" on Phibbs where the guy was just hanging on to his stick, thought they called a solid game.

Thursday night's game in Windsor indeed turned out to be PIVOTAL. In a short period of 48 hours a 7 point deficit is now only 1 point. Just shows you how things can change fast.

Flint is playing the best hockey that it has been since the team came to town....but where are the fans?

Last nights crowd and tonight's crowd (both nights) were the smallest crowds in the OHL each night. In addition, tonight Saginaw nearly drew twice as many fans (5,200+) as Flint.

The team/players deserve much better support from the hockey fans of Flint, there should be NO excuses with the teams current on ice performance.

Wellllllllll, Super Bowl IS tomorrow but it’s pretty hard to argue with that observation. There should be more people at the games now. Anyway, since January 11, the day after the trade deadline, here’s how the West has gone.

1. Flint 10gp 8-1-0-1 17pts
2. London 9gp 8-1-0-0 16pts
3. Saginaw 9gp 7-2-0-0 14pts
4. Kitchener 9gp 6-1-2-0 14pts
5. Owen Sound 9gp 5-4-0-0 10pts
6. Windsor 9gp 4-4-1-0 8pts
7. Erie 9gp 4-4-1-0 8pts
8. Sault Ste Marie 8gp 3-5-0-0 6pts
9. Guelph 9gp 2-7-0-0 4 pts
10. Sarnia 9gp 1-7-0-1 3pts

Your post shows that playing just .500 hockey the rest of the way just ain't going to cut it (aka Windsor). The teams who play at least .750 hockey (getting 3/4 of their possible points) will be the teams that finish in the top 4.

Also consider with 5 teams being so close in the top half of the standings there could very likely be teams that end up tied in points, including even possibly having as many as 4 or 5 teams ending the season tied in points. Resulting in time to break out the tiebreaker rules.

It's a whole lot better finish to the regular season when one of the teams you root for is in the final chase.

Those whose skin I get under were in attendance, but Flint isn’t the hockey town it once was. Congrats to Saginaw on their 5,200 last night. Double the Flint attendance even though Flint has now won 7 straight.

But we get a bunch of space in Section 6 so we can deface stupid plaques all night.

Anyone have footage of the hit that caused Fowler to get suspended?
Nice to see the finesse players (Ty) stand up for themselves. Although it does tend to make fans of a serious playoff team suck their breath in a bit I imagine!! LOL no harm no foul?

Hopefully Flint can continue this hot play and pass Windsor for 4th seed and maybe fight for a 3rd. The top spots in the conference are tight and anything can happen. Nice thing about all this is Flint is 3rd or 4th overall in the OHL in GF.

Gonna work on getting my seats in section 4 for a game. Got to see what my schedule can handle. That's the handicapped section right?

Not sure you can sustain post deadline pace but absolutely a Top 1-4 is in the cards. I think we are seeing separation with Windsor seemingly being the team to drop down into the 5-8 slot. Kitchener, Saginaw, London and Flint seem to be rising to the top. No mystery all teams that addressed issues at the deadline. Round 2 of the playoffs is going to be a beast in the West! Flint is for real and this season is your shot to go deep in the playoffs. Payback for the seasons of struggle when the team first arrived.

Hayden Fowler gets 2 games and is eligible to return....Friday. Against Flint. Hamilton’s Liam Van Loon also picked up a 3 game suspension but will be back for Saturday’s Flint-Hamilton game.

4th looks like a very realistic possibility. 3rd unlikely. Unless London, Saginaw, or Kitchener suddenly implodes in a major Guelph like way I don't see us having much chance to crack the top 3.
