GDT: Flames @ Winnipeg (again) 4:00 MST, 11:00 PM GMT

Ok Wolf has been our team MVP this season but this needs to be toned down. When we play teams with a top 3rd offense in this league, Wolf has started 5 of the 14 games. When we play back to backs, Wolf has started 0 of the 6 second night games. Wolf has 15 home game starts compared to Vladars 9, and 5 of Vladar 9 home starts were against said top 1/3 offensive teams.

There is a metric tonne of context to apply before just comparing save percentages. Wolf is a much better goalie, but Vladar is being eaten alive to help shelter Wolf. Backups tend to get easy usage to win games while the starter gets the rough games for the best chance of a win. Wolf has received the opposite this year and has been thriving.

I've never seen this level of clear cut protection before. And this isn't me slagging wolf, as you aren't in your quoted post, it's just straight-up obvious. It's similar how some players get the points and contracts because they get all or most of the pp time while maybe equally talented players languish and never have the big money contracts because their usage reflects in their pt totals.

Vlad and Wof's agents. Different career time-lines notwithstanding.

Anywho.

Not sure why Flake is getting that much of protection. His time is up. I don't get this BS i.e. him being adequate cover, oh he always faces tough opponents bollocks... he is just an untrusted journeyman. Very likeble guy but an extremely flaky back up. Been advocating for Cooley to show off what's he made of from Sep. He got lit in the A last night but that was expected after his lay off.
