Familiar faces in different places. Obviously our first game vs. the Flyers since the deal. Both Kuzy and Pelts expected to be in the lineup tonight, and it looks like Ersson gets the start.

Do any teams in the playoff picture need a mediocre backup?

Off the top of my head just Tampa and Columbus come to mind... but I don't think Columbus wants to move on from Tarasov with him still being just 25 and chasing a UFA backup doesn't seem to fit their M.O. Tampa has already moved 2 picks from this draft, I'm not sure they will want to move more for a backup because if something happens to Vasi they're f***ed anyways

Everyone is almost certain that they won't make that big trade to replace Skinner and Bowman does love to add minor pieces to the roster to make it look like he's actually trying to improve the team for the playoffs.

The Oilers have much more pressing needs than their backup and only have 5m in LTIR space to use. Also, I'm not sure Vladar is any better, I'm not saying Pickard is any good, but their defense makes meh goaltenders look terrible.

Worth noting that the Flyers are only four points behind Detroit for the last WC spot in the East, so I wouldn’t expect this one to be a walk in the park.
