I agree his offer was a lowball. But litearally, your offer makes no sense.

Why not? Is the Leafs biggest need not a quality top 3 defensive dman? Then they get Bennett back to fill in their top 9. Honestly the deal would probably make the Flames worse, I’m not even sure we would do it.

You're not getting a 22 year old first line winger for a 2nd pairing defenseman and a player who is still getting outscored by Connor Brown.

Leafs would be happy to pick up Hamonic for a couple of draft picks and a B prospect. Asking for Nylander is fanfiction.

Johnny Gaudreau for an avg starting goaltender and middle 6 F. Deal? Why not? Is the Flames biggest need not a "quality" goaltneder? Then they get a middle 6 forward back to fill in their top 9.

This is to illustrate: top line players are worth more than 2 middle of the roster players.

Suggesting Connor Brown for Bennett is laughable. If the Leafs don’t want Hamonic that’s fine, we won’t be giving him away for less than we paid. There’s no deals to be made that I see then.

Now yes, big... big... big overreaction, I know. But this is Hfboards, so of course somebody is gonna make a thread like this. But if the Flames look like crap by the deadline, I'd assume we'd be looking to sell in order to get draft picks. Now in this proposal, we are going scorched Earth here; Flames management doesn't believe in this core anymore and almost everything is up for grabs (this likely wouldn't be the case in reality, and we'd probably be looking to move veteran depth players, but for this proposal that is not the case)

Now in this case, the un-movable pieces are:

Forwards: One of Monahan or Lindholm (I haven't decided, but personally leaning towards Lindholm given his contract and that he is a righty center), Tkachuk, Dube

Defense: Hanifin, Valimaki, Andersson

Goalies: Parsons, Rittich

Just about everything else would be up for grabs. I'd assume somebody would offer up a kings ransom for 3 years and a playoff run with Gaudreau with his contract, but value from that point diminishes a lot.
hey Calgary NYLANDER in TO just might be available for someone like TKACHUCK, what you think he was born there so I think it would work and TO would add a little sandpaper, I really think that would work...

Detroits first is very tempting, especially as I don't expect you guys to be competitive for at least a few years. Nyquist would be a rental as he's a ufa after this season, so I'm not sure about that (even if he's a solid top 6 winger). Is there anybody else in your system that you'd be willing to give? Otherwise, I'd rather just have a 2020 2nd. Also, I'd change the condition on the 1st to either 2020 or 2021 with the option going to Detroit, but without it being top 3 protected. Otherwise, you got yourself an hfboards deal.
2021 1st (1st overall protected) & 2020 2nd would be my final offer. The 1st will very likely be a top 4 pick, plus an early 2nd. Nyquist should be good for a late 1st this TDL, barring injury etc, so you could still flip him at TDL and/or resign him. You guys need more 2nd line scoring...In other words, I value Nyquist higher than the 2nd, Wings mgmt. probably agree. Check out Capfriendly to look at players in our system & see if there's a piece that'd take the condition back to Top 3 protected to facilitate a trade.

A) I said that the Leafs would pay draft picks and prospects for Hamonic. Considering that the Flames got Hamonic for draft picks, I don't think my statement was outrageous.
B) A 1st, 2 2nds and Bennett is not worth Nylander and is not even close. If it is, we'd happily give you two firsts, a 2nd, and Brown for Tkachuk.
C) Bennett is welcome to outscore Brown any time he likes.

I like how Dube is untouchable but Gaudreau isn't lol.
If the team has a fire sale and starts rebuilding Gaudreau isn't re-signing at the end of his contract.

Also for me Tkachuk would be the only real untouchable maybe Valimaki and Andersson.

Scorched earth. No, Gaudreau isn't untouchable.
He is according to management which I will go with over some fly by night fan that wants to deal our superstar away. The Flames don't need to have a scorched earth fire sale except maybe some of their so called fans.
