Probably for the best.
It's clear the personnel we have right now isn't cutting it. Barrie was a one man wrecking crew in terms of giving up chances last night.

Finally. They should call up Poi while they’re at it and launch Bean and Barrie directly into the sun.

Drive safe in this weather.

Was it Solo or a different prospect that got into a fender bender on the day of his NHL debut?

No longer waiver exempt if they wanted to send him back down right? Hope he plays well. Can’t imagine he’ll be worse than what we’ve been running out lately

You've been told by everyone that watches the Wranglers semi-regularly that he's a trainwreck, but you keep beating that drum.

So stoked for Solo. I genuinely think he has the tools to brow into a poor mans Tanev and slide into the top 4 eventually.

Can't be worse than the scrubs we're putting out now. This is the worse group of LHD I have witnessed in a long time for the Flames, we usually have at least one competent defender, right now we're rocking 3 replacement level players.

Correct. but they can send him back down without clearing waivers until he has played 10 NHL games or been on the NHL roster for 30 days.. this is part of the reason I think Bishop has been sitting as every game before te 4-nations break would have seen him become waiver eligible again.

If you're speaking of LHD it's only 2, since Barrie and Miro are both RH replacement level players.

If you and one other poster is “everyone that watches the Wranglers semi-regularly” lmfao

Conversely, nobody that watches the Flames semi-regularly has been calling out Barrie until very recently (and least not that I’ve seen) when he’s been an actual defensive trainwreck pretty much from the get-go, which is what I assumed would be the case when Conny first signed him. So you’ll have to excuse me for reserving judgement on Poi until we’ve given him the same length of rope. I guarantee we’d never have to struggle to see him backcheck while chugging along in first gear the way we did Barrie, he’s a far more creative playmaker, and could possibly even quarterback the 2nd PP unit.

Stoked for Solo too, though I’m not as optimistic about his ceiling as you seem to be. I think he’d be the perfect bottom pairing partner for Patches. With Bahl in a top-four LHD shutdown role, the glaring hole would be a guy with top-four skill and skating, which is why I’m so high on Poi since he’s already in the system. But even Weegs and Ras have had their share of defensive lapses lately, you’ve put a bit of fear in me as to what kind of disaster it could be defensively pairing Poi with either of them lol

I've seen 2 others say it in response to you. They are the only others that post about Wranglers games on this board... it's not like we have a lot of regular posters here.

Barrie has been shit on since his signing when he's been in the lineup and it's been relatively quiet because he hadn't played in a month and a half before the Jan 28 game, and then he looked passable for a few games before last night compared to Miro and Bean.

Basically, Poirier has far more poise with the puck than Bean, is a far better skater than Barrie, and is no worse defensively than either of them. He should get his 10 games on that merit alone.

Glad to see him get the opportunity to show his stuff... assuming he gets an opportunity in an actual game.

Are your Poirier's parent or something? Because your absolute blindness to his overall game is baffling.
For a team as high in the standings as the Wranglers are and have been all year, it does seem a bit telling that they’ve still allowed the 8th most goals in the entire league. That said, they’ve also scored the most by a country mile, and Poirier leads all Wrangler dmen in points, but is still only -3. I may not have seen many Wrangler games this season, but I’m going to have to start, because I’ve watched Poi plenty, and I just don’t think it’s anywhere near as dire as you’re making it out to be. Barrie was tough to watch, and I’ve never seen Poi fall apart at the seams like that on the defensive end.
