I'd have liked to have seen Calgary in. That would've given us a shot at six Canadian teams.
The last time all six Canadian NHL teams (Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames and Winnipeg Jets) qualified for the playoffs in the same season was in 1986.

At that time, there were seven Canadian teams, including the Quebec Nordiques, who also made the playoffs in 1986.

Yeah. I forgot there are 8 teams gone after the 1st round so they would likely rank at the top of those teams.
I think the rankings remain the same except for the semis and scf teams.

1-16 : all teams who did not make the playoffs ranked by points.
17-28 : all teams eliminated in the 1st and 2nd round ranked by points.
29-30 : teams eliminated in the semis ranked by points.
31 : team who lost in the scf
32 : team who won the cup

I'm not 100% sure though.

This is correct.

I’m at peace with the results of the habs. If they miss it, we pick 13th (or win the lottery) and i hope a burning rage/deception for the offseason/next season. If we make it backdoor, playoffs experience
I think it's John Smoltz (or Greg Maddux not sure anymore) who once said thet he never learned anything from winning and that he always learned something when he lost or something along those lines. Losing would not be the end of the world it would be great experience either way. Losing is part of the process.

It is the process if you're the Leafs.
