How does the draft work again now?

You cant move up more than 10 ranks? Meaning if you finish the season at the 22nd rank you have a infinitely small chance to get #1?

Can only move up 10 ranks and it's only for teams out of the playoffs. So if we just miss and are like spot 15 in the lottery, best we are gonna get is like 5th OA or whatever, my math sucks.

right, so in the context that one person says there isnt a difference between 11th and 15th in this draft (which i agree with), id argue that the potential for a 1st vs a 5th is worth loads.

Omg, I can't believe the Flames came back & won! Wow! When I saw it was 2-0 Colorado I thought for sure they were done.

I still don't think they're making the playoffs over the Blues, but man, you have to be impressed by their fight.

And, they're doing it without riding Wolf into dust. Vladar played tonight.

Calgary passes Vancouver & moves 5 points back of St. Louis with only 2 games in hand now.

Calgary next 5 games: @ Utah, vs Anaheim, vs Vegas, @ SJS, @ Anaheim. 4 of 5 are definitely winnable games.

Blues next 5 games: vs Detroit, vs Pittsburgh, vs Colorado, @ Winnipeg, @ Edmonton.

Sort of hope that western WC2 comes down to the last day of games.

Calgary needs to play near perfect hockey from here on out though. Calagary would be lucky if St. Louis only goes 4-3 in their last 7 considering that they're on a 9 game win streak. That would put St. Louis as 95 points, so Calagary would need 14 of their last 18 points to overtake them.

At this point, I think Calgary has a better chance of catching Minny that the Blues, with the way St. Louis is playing.

I'm hoping for Calgary to lose now. Virtually zero chance they draft top 10

One points many are missing with why Calgary winning is good , is exactly what someone me til a above that they can catch Minnesota.
And as it happens minnisota now can’t relax and it happens that their next 2 games are ca the rangers and islanders

Everyone is. I'm just impressed with their effort.

This isn't Florida who backed into a playoff spot in 2022 because everyone else kept losing along with them. Pittsburgh losing to one of the worst teams in the league (Chicago) to give Florida the playoff spot is a result I'll never forget.

If Calgary does make the playoffs, they'll definitely have earned it.

Love the fight from the Flames even though they are toast. Good building block for next year.
