HF Habs: Flames or Panthers 1st Round Pick 2025: Part II

Blues 6 points up on the Flames now, although Calgary has 4 games in hand. That includes tonight's game which they're currently losing. Dallas leads 3-1 after 2.

Calgary would then have to win all 3 of their games in hand to catch St. Louis, which seems unrealistic. A tie would still go to St. Louis due to ROWs.

It's definitely possible to get 2 top 15 picks. #12 (Montreal) & #15 (Calgary).

Although not a 1st, the Pens 2nd doesn't really get talked about. 3 points away from being a top 4 pick in the 2nd is very valuable. Buffalo also has 3 games in hand.
At last draft the trade on the table was reportedly Mailloux and the Jets 1st for Zegras. If Zegras's value has gone down, I wonder if it wouldn't now be Mailloux and the Pens 2nd, which is 4 spots away from a late 1st. I wonder if Hughes would even want Zegras anymore, if it is indeed that they even did last year.

The game differential between St. Louis & Calgary is insane considering the season is almost over. Flames have 4 games in hand over the Blues. That's nuts.

Blues won't stop winning. They beat Colorado today to move 6 pts up on Vancouver & 8 points up of Calgary.

Calgary does play tonight @ Edmonton to bring it back to 3, but they have to win all of their games in hand to catch St. Louis.

Blues have a seriously easy schedule. They have Detroit & Pittsburgh next. Lol

Sorry for the Flames and Canucks. Was hoping Canadian team got in playoffs. As they have more against them.

With so many teams at least 5 points behind the Flames now and so few games left in the schedule, there is no way the Flames will finish bottom 10. We might as well hope for them to lose games in regulation time now.

With the luck we have with other teams' 1st round picks, the Flames will probably win the draft lottery and we'll be picking 32nd after Florida wins the Cup again.
