Confirmed Trade: [CGY/PHI] Morgan Frost, Joel Farabee for Andrei Kuzmenko, Jakob Pelletier, 2025 2nd, 2028 7th

I agree he's a talented player. But is his value really super high after a hot streak? I feel like his potential is basically Farabee, and he's only a year younger while Farabee is an established top 9 forward still with upside.

I don't mind the Pelletier pickup, but I feel like Farabee is pretty undervalued in this trade. Taking on Kuzmenko (who won't work with Torts) and only a 2nd for him & Frost... idk.
No, but I'm certain his play after being called up definitely turned heads. I don't think he'll be a star but he could absolutely end up as a similar caliber player to Farabee

I'ma go against the grain and say this is a win for Philly they get a bunch of cap space to add at the draft and they have 4 2nd round picks and they can potentially trade a few to pick up an expensive top 6 forward or top 4 dman, kind of like Devon Toews when he was traded from the Isles or when John Marino was traded, guys like this are always available at the draft when draft pick value doubles overnight.

Flyers should not take a run at any big free agent, especially if he isn’t a center (or maybe defender). They should be content with being a bottom feeder for a few years. Their prospect pool could be fairly lush with all the 1sts and 2nds this year including hopefully a high pick. If they are able to pick in the top 5 the next few years, build up their prospect pool, then I would be alright with taking a big swing.

Not sure what to think of Kuzmenko and Pelletier. If they are good then good. If they suck, oh well. Flyers need to think firmly about the long term future which includes being as bad a team as possible. This trade kinda helps the Flyers in that regard so even if it’s lopsided I’m still okay with it, oddly

They still could have made those kind of moves with keeping Farabee and Frost. They’re sitting totally fine with the cap.

I see it this way too

If they've soured on Farabee then better to pawn his contract off on someone else while you can.

I actually think Philadelphia won the trade too. Kuz might go back to his scoring form and pelletier is a very nice young player plus 2nd round picks are always sweet.
