I have a hard time believing Boston would move one of Ullmark and Swayman now. They have a special bond, like brothers. Trading one of them before the playoffs could seriously damage that locker room, and Bruins chances of winning the cup.

Moving one of them in the summer is a different thing. If Boston trades for a center today I think they will send Frederic or Forbort to move cap, if needed.
Crosby and Guntzel have a bond, how did that workout for them.........

This is all part of his plan to get everyone to watch a boring trade centre

Makes no sense for Bruins to give up a goalie until the off-season when they have two equal starters who might play in playoffs.

And Murray Edwards won't allow Markstrom to be traded because he is having flashbacks of the 2004 Flames cup run.

See I disagree. In the regular season having a high end goalie in every game is great since neither of them could play every game.

Come playoffs? Its a real commitment to be sitting one of your best players by default.

It makes a lotta sense. You can only play 1 goalie at a time. Better to use the assets on someone that would actually play.

I like the saying in the NFL, if you have 2 starting QBs you really have 0.

Not sure who Jacob Billington is but i highly doubt Kings trade PLD . I call BS . But for hypotheticals and for fun

PLD + Kaliyev and Rittich for Ulmark + Zacha and Frederic?

Bruins have no need for Rittich. Bussi is waivers eligible next year and is NHL ready, just obviously very blocked.

Frederic is immensely underrated in his trade value. He is a big physical middle six winger who scores 5 on 5 goals without elite talent around him. Over the past two seasons, he would be 2nd on the Kings in 5 on 5 goals (just like he has been 2nd for Boston in that time frame).

I think its closer to Ullmark + DeBrusk (with extension in place) + a non-top prospect for PLD, tbh.

True, but Pens aren't really in a position to win the cup, are they?
Bruins don't get a forward that can put the puck in the net or a solid D-man, or some physicality , their goalie that only plays half the time, can have all the hugs and bonds they want , but that will not help them in the playoffs.

I mean Calgary would still have Markstrom under contract, and can move him this summer where there should be more of a market.
Logic and intelligent thought is not allowed here.

It's also kinda hilarious that Devils fans balk at Markstrom's contract, but want Ullmark who only makes a million less and is a UFA in a year, and is likely to demand a massive contract.

likely due to age. If a team can re-sign Ullmark he could be their goalie for the next decade. Nice to have that stability. I would prefer LA go after Ullmark. Obvisouly the million dollar question is what kind of price tag does Ullmark want? Definitely would seek a raise in his current deal.

I'm sure Bruins will add. Pretty sure they won't move Ullmark or Swayman today though. Time will tell.

I want a 1st and good prospect for Markstrom if we are moving him now instead of the summer. This team has very little talent but has played their nuts off. They have to be able to understand why the trade happened now. Has to be a prospect at the Brzustewicz level, not one at the Grushnikov level.

If Blake can move PLD for either Bruins goalie it will be miracle.

PLD is the most frustrating player I have watched as a kings fan.

If Ullmark is on the table I don’t understand why Fitz is so locked in on Markstrom.

Signals to me that they kind of want to give Daws a chance to develop and that they don’t want to pay Ullmark or Saros a billion dollars on their next deals

Has any other "insider" talked about this? Because Weekes is the least reliable "insider"?

Flames have helped Vegas. Flames have helped Vancouver. Helping LA seems to be the next logical step.
Not sure who we have that is movable still that would help LA besides Rango or Markstrom. Also not sure either of those pieces help them enough to compete with Edmonton. Vegas should beat the Oilers if Stone is back. Vancouver has a shot. I don't see how LA does it.

I think if they made a move for PLD, they'd be looking to move him within 2 years. It's hard to know where his head is at when it comes to being the player he could be. He's playing 3 minutes less than he was when he was putting up 60 points with the Jets which could explain his numbers but it's possible he earned that demotion with his play.

What about Ullmark and Debrusk for Danult and Laferriere? Gives the Bruins more cap room to upgrade the blueline, a top 6 center who's kind of a poor man's Lindholm, and a promising rookie RW with decent size and oomph to his game.
