What are the Flames biggest needs to make a big push this year?
What positions and who would you target?

Sutter loves Brown! What's the offer? We need a middle six RH RW. Preferably a scorer who plays a good two way game.
I would pursue someone like Kapanen, Tippett, Rakell. Depends which teams fall out of the playoffs to be honest.
Dube, Valamaki, our first and 2nds are all on the table.
We are pretty solid everywhere else but are really missing a RW as mentioned above.
Agree to a certain extent. I think we need two top 9. A Rakell in the top 6 and Tippett filling out the top 9. Not too confident in our depth scoring for a big playoff push.We need a middle six RH RW. Preferably a scorer who plays a good two way game.

What's the ask, he is having one hell of a year...Sutter loves Brown! What's the offer?
No you are thinking way too small. Calgary needs to either go for it or call it quits. They need a difference maker forward and/or a RHS that can effectively play 2nd line. Giroux, Pavelski, and Hertl should be at the top of the rental list. Scheifele and Miller if they want someone with a bit of term (but that will make cap for next year hard), then someone like Toffoli/Konecny if they are looking at a middle ground area.We need a middle six RH RW. Preferably a scorer who plays a good two way game.

He's a LW that was moved to the right side. He gets chances but just cant find the back of the net this yearWhat’s Dubes deal? I thought he was a RW.
Ya except we're not trading Toffoli. He fits perfectly fine on Montreal's roster.Toffoli is what Calgary needs. Former Sutter player who is a righty fits perfectly in the top 9 and is a pretty much good to bring you atleast a 20-20-40 level of production and knows what Sutter expects and what it takes to win. However he does carry a 4.25m cap hit which is tough for Calgary to eat with Gaudreau, Tkachuk and Mangiapane all looking for contracts this summer
Ya I think Rakell is an ideal pick up… can play RW or LW…. Not expensive at all…. And plenty of expierenceI think we need a middle six forward like Rakell that will fit the Sutter mould
I would go for Rakell or someone like Nic Paul if we can also do something like upgrade Monahan to Miller/Scheifele/Hertl (extended). But otherwise Rakell is probably not enough to make Calgary a legitimate contender, especially as a rental. Right now they are super reliant on their 1st line. The depth scoring is extremely scarce. With Calgary's 5-7M TDL cap space they can definitely afford to big fish huntYa I think Rakell is an ideal pick up… can play RW or LW…. Not expensive at all…. And plenty of expierence
Habs fans seemed to be ok with 1st + 2nd + Pitlick for Toffoli a few weeks ago. I would do it from a Flames perspective. I'm a fan of his game and he's proven to have success under SutterI am a MTL and VAN fan but I always thought Toffoli to CGY made a lot of sense. Will be hard to agree on the proper price between fan bases but it's a good fit in my opinion...

Well that is the risk of trading for a 1st. For example Buffalo thought they were getting a top 10 pick a few years ago, then St. Louis figured out how to play hockey and the pick ended up at 31st OA. Anything can happen in the playoffs.I am one of the fans who thought he could get more than that just because Zucker got traded for 1st + Addison (so 1st +2nd) and I believe this is floor valuation to me. I would not be mad if it is the deal, just think he could fetch a bit more.
It also depends on where this 1st lands. If CGY wins the cup (I would love for any Canadian team to win at this point ^^ ), getting 32 OA or if CGY gets eliminated in the 1st round (17-21 OA) it is not the same already...

The Zucker trade isn't far off though. Decent comparison IMO, Zucker was younger at the time of the trade so that should factor in
Kapanen is available. Pens need a backup G, bottom pair D with size, and a bottom 6 physical winger while staying cheaper than Kapanen. ShootWe need a middle six RH RW. Preferably a scorer who plays a good two way game.
