Weegartown

Fastest man in the West. 2nd fastest in NHL history 👀

The barn burner guys are hammered  My main takeaway from tonight is the Habs stink and so do the Flames and America you is wild cuz. Happy to see the young guys play well, thought Coronato, Zary, and Wolf were out three best. Special teams were trash. Flames were the better team the final 40. Kuzmenko was decent again, getting those hands warmed up. Really curious what his return looks like if(when) Connie trades him. Coleman a better game from him after some of his ass ones.

Blueline were all questionable. Pretty classic Andersson game, some braindead plays and some where he looked dynamic. Bahl not bad but you can tell the minutes are starting to get to him. Didn't think Weegar was much good but pretty whatever. Kadri skates very well so will never be completely useless but he's coming up on it since his first few games. Sharangovich line had some good shifts and some bad ones, I just want to see Hubes generate chances and he seems to struggle to do that even when he is in a spot to do so.

I’ve been preaching to the choir about Coronato for a while now but wow, did he finish strong today. He’s struggled finding the space to get his shot off so far but when he does it’s a thing of beauty. He will
Just keep getting better and finding his space, he’s too talented not to. By 2027 that’s a 30 goal scorer right there.

Missed the 3rd period and watched the highlights, wow Coronato just put the team on his back. That 1st goal was gorgeous.

He's been showing flashes of being an entertaining player to watch, hope he keeps it up!

I wouldn't say he put the team on his back. Lots of guys (especially Coleman) were pushing hard and not getting any luck. Coronato certainly was able to cash in on opportunities that the others helped create though.

I wonder if a lot of the team is a bit under the weather. Lots of the speed, skating, energy, decision making and coordination of the entire team was brutal last night.

It felt like one of those games where we we're playing within our system, getting lots of good puck movement but when it came time to break through the Montreal defense we we're consistently just not able to get a good bounce and just a bit short on the skill to turn some good play into a good scoring chance, and then the puck was coming back the other way and Wolf needed to make a big save.

We looked destined to be not good enough to win a pretty well played game and then Coronato found that bit of skill we were missing for 5 minutes.

There was that, but the whole team looked sluggish. Props to them for fighting through it and getting the win, but it seemed obvious to me that they were lacking energy. To me it looked obvious that they all were somehow not playing up to their normal standard of play and had to dig deep just to get those basic mechanics of their system in place.

Tough crowd.

The Flames dominated the final forty minutes of that game.

Well... yes. But something looked like it really off with the team to me. Like they were playing after getting bag skated or something. They were slow and there were too many sequences where their feet weren't moving and they were just kinda watching the puck/colliding into each other. This meant all sorts of dominating sequences in the offensive zone to many odd man rushes going back in the opposite direction.

My comments while watching was that it looked like a lot of cement shoes and fighting the puck.

I'm not saying that they sucked and still won. I'm saying that I felt they all looked really off to me, but still worked together as a group to overcome that and get the win.
