HF Habs: Flames 1st Round Pick 2025

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

They will tumble, but I think they stay out of top 10. Columbus is in the #10 spot and Calgary has a 7 pt lead over them. I think ultimately they finish somewhere between 11-16.
That would be nice. I'm not getting my hopes up though. I don't think they have scored more than 3 goals in any of their last 5-6 games. Not much room for error for their goalies and D.

They haven’t scored more than 3 goals in a game (not including the goal counted from a shootout win) in 20 straight games. They are 9-7-4 in those games.

Holy smokes! It's hard to sustain anything close to that winning percentage with that level of offensive production.

They are -1 in goals over the season...

I suspect they will run out of juice eventually.

They will but there's enough teams that aren't very good, they just need to remain juiced for long enough.

If they can sustain or moderately drop their pace in December we should be good. Wolf is playing too good to let them crater that hard.

Flames lost but emotional game. They been overachieving on leadership and good goaltending. Coleman, Weegar, Coleman. good leadership. How long will it last though?

This pace should fall off in December. But Wolf is good enough to keep them from bottoming out harshly. We just need another month of above .500 hockey from them and we should have enough buffer to have the pick not fall in the top 10 where it flips to Florida's pick.

They already slowly started to drop, it's just not yet reflected in their rankings yet. It's probably going to be a slow progress torward the bottom while the leadership and goaltending tries to keep the boat afloat.

i'm sure this has been asked, but what if both the flames and Panthers pick is a top 10? What do we get?

The Flames pick (as Florida keeps their pick), unless the Flames pick 1st overall, then Montreal gets the better of Calgary or Florida’s 2026 pick.
Can they trade these picks this year ?

Still looking really stacked for picks in this upcoming draft.

Yeah, they are going to be in the bottom 15 by January. Both Edmonton and Colorado are going to pass Calgary very soon.

Edmonton has passed them. I don't have a lot of confidence in Colorado due to their absolutely horrific goaltending.

Right now, Calgary is really strong at home (.750 winning percentage), and really shitty on the road (.385).

I expect them to eventually fall into .500 territory, as long as they stay there that'll keep them out of top 10 & around 12/13.

If they decide to sell because they don't want to give us that high of a pick, I would go all in on Andersson. And, if they fall to bottom of standings due to that, oh well.
