Was there ever any doubt? Like being caught in a black hole every year. Nothing to do but accept your fate.

As I said earlier. Win that many wins in a row? When you lose one it's so often a run of losses to follow. At least 2.

That said I won't be surprised if they still tie this with the last two days of comebacks. Full moon hockey.

Aaand. They didn't. Oil win in reg.

Brown takes lead for oil w 19.7 left. Nice. Lol.
With the Oilers win they also leap frog the Panthers in the standings (improving the pick the Flames will get).

Right now the Flames, Montreal and Jersey picks are all right next to each other. Still some games to play obviously, but we'd currently only lose 1 draft position giving up our original pick and our next pick would only be 4 after that.

So even though we all wanted that top 10 pick this is actually a best case scenario (in regards to having to give the pick up). We literally only lose a spot.

I'm not even sure what outcome I want anymore. In or out of the ploffs, I dunno if I can handle it.

I've only just come to terms that I'm happy with the pick we likely lose to Montreal.

I guess, barely miss means team stays hungry? Get in means team can get gassed to be drafting at a good time? I dunno. Glass is perfectly half empty and full at the same time.

Big bravado from Conroy, Maloney and Nonis about sticking with the group because they deserve a shot at playoffs but we do nothing about the big black hole at LHD behind Bahl. Bean and Hanley out there for all three period goals. Hanley would have been fine as 3LHD. Guess what irks me is not trading vets at a sellers deadline, not upgrading at deadline and not calling up more kids kind of makes it look like the stretch drive attitude from senior mgmt was - “I dunno whatever”.

High notes: This should immediately get some youth in the lineup.
Low notes: If they don't, and they win on Friday, they'll keep this lineup in until they're full on mathematically eliminated.

Man this was such a hard loss to swallow. 4th time in the past month we've lost in OT when leading after 2 or having a lead late in the 3rd (Dallas - Mar 6, Vancouver - Mar 12, Edmonton - Mar 29, & Yesterday)

You hold on to win those games that we pretty much lost from sitting back in the third - apart from last night, that was errors that cost us - that's an additional 4 points that would've had us at 92 and we would've been 1 back of STL and Minny with games in hand, and a reg win over Edmonton that day would've also had us 1 point back of them.

Could've would've should've, but man those games were winnable and if we just held on things might've been different right now, oh well, season's been fun seeing Wolf be special and Coronato emerge into a legit scorer. Hopefully Zayne and Aydar get some games here and we move forward again next season

When you consider all the pps we squandered too. It was beyond abysmal.
