Got curious about some flames player stats since I've started a Team MVP series in the poll section.

Weegar despite having 13 less goals than last season and being on a more anemic offensive team, is still 18th in points among defenseman. He was 16th last year.

He is also 3rd in hits amongst defenseman (wasn't top 10 last year) and 6th in shots blocked.

Dunno, I feel like he should be getting a few Norris votes considering some of the names ahead of him on the points list aren't as good defensively (some on much better offensive teams). But if he didn't even get any votes last year when he scored 20, I doubt he'll get any this year.

But he's undoubtedly the best flames skater imo

Yeah, I'm not even saying he should be a Norris finalist, but in Florida he got at least a bit of recognition finishing 8th and 14th in Norris voting his last 2 years there.

He shattered his career highs last year but got no votes, and even this year he's tied with the most points he had in Florida.

But I guess that's what happens when you're not on a PO team unless you have eye popping offensive numbers. Maybe he'll get a few votes if Calgary makes it this season.

And he plays with Joel Hanley (who gas been very good btw). But basically a nobody before this year
