Once upon a time, i was pretty convinced Evan Cormier would be a solid NHL netminder. But now, here we are. Still seems like a fine invite, to at least look at as organizational depth somewhere.

John Leonard is still interesting

So is Aidan McDonough. One of them could unseat Greer/Gadjovich as 12th F. Assuming Samoskevich makes the team also. Although that spot will probably be an alternating one. A Leonard that's figured things out - Nosek- Boqvist would be a good 4th line .

Four goals in two games with the Checkers for McDonough.

Just a blip on the screen or is he worth watching?

Saw a lot of him last year for Abbotsford.

He's big and he has an absolute rifle of a shot. He also has a slooooooow first step and has the turning radius/agility of a battleship. Had defensive/coverage issues in the AHL last year because of his skating weaknesses.

He was better as the season went along and I was mildly surprised he wasn't brought back for another year but barring an absolutely stunning developmental 180 at age 25 (which virtually never happens) there isn't much pro potential there.

Could he pop 30 goals in the AHL this year, though? Sure.
