From most of us that has seen every game he's played, this and +++ to those saying he'll be worth more in no time.
What don't u guys get? In a few years he's still rfa... This isn't a steal even if he was ufa unless he takes massive steps forward... It's market value which isn't good when u have 4 years rfa left.. Panthers Overpay now and even if he improves to Hedman level very little in the future

Maybe Ekblad scared the Panthers with the Subban story. Either way this is not a steal at all
Bad deal, pretty overrated player. Amazing shot, good skills, however not going to be an elite #1 defenseman and already paid like one.

Also a dumb post... He's as safe a bet as u can get to becoming elite as far as young players/ prospects go... It's not a bad deal... It's just not a good deal which is what it should be when your locking someone up at this age for 8 years

Ekblad is very good as is wouldn't call him elite yet. His contract isn't that great especially when comparing to Hedman who makes slightly more but is cover nothing but UFA years unlike Ekblad contract.
