If it's anyone from Vancouver it would be Tanev ( the RD / LD thing isn't a big deal IMO) but I can't see them giving up the first this year or Hepo for that matter. Maybe next year's first and a prospect, Hepo has so much potential that it's hard to gauge his value at this point. Truly a big boom or bust guy. They may want to wait and see how he does in the pros next year in Finland before trading him.

Both Tallon and coach Boughner were saying that although Yandle did a good job, they didn't like the way they were forced to utilize him this year.

Combine that with them going after McDonagh at the deadline to me it's pretty obvious that they want a veteran, top4 LD to play with Ekblad.

I honestly don't know if we have anyone of interest when it comes to RHD. Max Gildon is probably our most highly rated D but is a leftie.

And btw regarding Hepo, I may be completely off base. Tallon may very well use him as a trade chip if he doesn't see big enough upside or thinks he's skill won't convert to the nhl. I just haven't seen him enough so I'd like to see him in pros before trading him.

I would love for both the nyi front office and CDH to compromise, reach an extension agreement, but there is really not much reason for CDH to compromise.

It will be a weak market for top D and the salary cap is rising.
I would not be surprised if CDH gets $5m per , on a 4-5 yr deal.

Pretty good in his own zone, can chip in about 20-25 points a season. Not super fast but still a good top 4 D man.

I like Maatta but instead of saying he's not super fast you should have said he's super slow. Ekblad was super slow too a year ago and it was causing brain cramps throughout our board until he finally showed improvement this year. I don't know if we can go though another bad skater experiment lol.
