Really? I still see a more or less stacked PP 1. Does JT move down to the second unit? I am glad Rielly is off of PP1 though.

Anyone can do what Rielly did on the PP…pass the puck to the right board, pass the puck to the left board, shoot into shin pads, occasionally get a muffin shot through…repeat. No creativity, no good shot.

I think OEL and Knies are both positive adds.

I would think about putting Matthews back on his strong side for the catch-and-release shot.

And to help that out, tell him to stay above the faceoff circle and off the wall, basically an Ovechkin-like "office". Everyone else move around the perimeter up high & down low to pull the defenders away from him, then find him, get him the puck quick and let him fire away.

It's reasonable, but the issue isn't once they are setup imo, it is the entries. Even tonight when they scored 2 on the PP, the entries were a mess.

We saw tonight as well, the puck movement in the offensive zone was different that what we have seen in the past. Quicker, more direct. OEL helps with that, and we know the others can do it as well.

I mean, really, even if the PP is good during the season, it's not going to matter unless it carries over to the playoffs... so I want them to develop multiple entries, multiple motions off the faceoffs. Then, if something is taken away, they can easily shift... maybe they have that already, but they sure as hell do not show it.

Reilly is more of a surprise 4th forward on the rush. OEL will eat his lunch on p.p due to his experience.
