I think Florida needs to bring in some vets to help bolster their blue-line
1) Z Michalek

I know that Arizona sent him to the minors but I don't know if it was just a money thing last season he was playing just over 17 minutes but he played with Yandle for a few seasons so they would have some chemistry

2) C Gunnarsson
He is a solid top 4 D-man ,not a physical player but he plays his angles well and block shots

3) R Polak he is a hard hitting, shot blocking D-Man who has good wheels who just played in the Finals

What would it take to land these players

Thanks

The defense has been very solid so far........

Those players would only go on the bottom pair, and Pysyk-Petrovic is a perfectly fine bottom pairing.

What the hell is wrong? They are 3-1-1 and have given up 2.40 GPG!

Next issue that doesn't need correcting?

Biggest liability seems to be Matheson.

Think the Jets could ave him? We'll send you Stanley AND Stuart for him. Stuart hits hard too. And Stanley is tall.

The new d-group has been very good. seems like you pulled out NHL 17, saw some low overalls from the young guys and started a thread

I dont think Florida needs help on the blue line, but you can get Polak for a 2nd/3rd

polak goes against everything the panthers are trying to do with its defense. also, lol at thinking he has that kind of value

Clearly this was started by a non Panther fan and someone who has not seen them play a single game and is just looking at names on paper and does not know who Matheson, Petrovic and Pysyk are

Yeah. He's only been our best dman 5 games into the season and was selected the best dman at World Championships last year. Hate these liabilities

Keith Yandle - Aaron Ekblad

Michael Matheson - Jason Demers

Mark Pysyk - Alex Petrovic

Sure it's not the greatest blueline but it ain't that bad that it needs a fixing thread especially with the defenseman listed in the OP.

Polak may go against what the panthers are doing, however another team may see him as a good veteran #4-5 DFD that can skate and kill penalties which is worth a late 2nd early 3rd.

Ekblad has been our weakest defenseman so far. Although he looked better against Colorado. Still think he is suffering from that injury that he got in the World Cup of Hockey. Hopefully he will get his form back soon. The Colorado game has given me hope!

Yandle has looked okay so far for the person that is asking.

Basically, we don't need our blueline fixing.

Gunnarson plays a solid game for us back there and it's not like he's got a lot of trade value so I don't know why we would trade him.

If Michalek was so good, why didn't the Panthers or any team claim him on waivers?

The Blues are going for a Cup room. They're not trading a cheap and competent vet like Gunnerson.

Yea Polak might be available, but he certainly isn't mobile.

Can't tell if serious or not.....:sarcasm:

You haven't been watching the games then. He is clearly performing well and has 2 goals and an apple in 5 games. Has arguably been our best defender. No way this guy is going anywhere. Where is this coming from?

NO! If we wanted a hard hitting defenseman, we would have kept Gudbranson.
