On the other hand, Stolarz has been solid (though I didn't like the Tkachuk goal last night but he made up for it). That magical pass by Marner to Mathews was something.

That 2022 team was so too damn good. Hard to believe they haven’t gotten back to that level. It doesn’t help that one of their star players was more in love with blow than he was winning Cups.

I think Avs have the talent. Landescog is back - he has been a key performer in post season play but it may be asking too much of him after his long layoff. As mentioned, the team looks a bit off; the chemistry is in question but it will need to come fast.

In fairness, it's only been 3 seasons.

Yes, it only took the Blackhawks 2 full seasons to go from the 2010 purge to the 2013 cup, but that's kind of an outlier. It took the Penguins 7 seasons to get back to legitimate cup contention. It took the Lighting 5 years from 2015 finals loss to their first cup. It's freaking hard to build out depth after the cap takes it's pound of flesh.

I think Colorado is in good shape.
