I'd go Canada, US and then Sweden. Only because of intangibles. US has never won back to back. Sweden rarely wins these despite being good every single year. Canada finds a way more often than not.

I'd have Canada above the US after game 1 tbh

The US was fairly sloppy against Germany and Canada had long stretches of the game where Finland basically didn't touch the puck in Canada's end.

No guarantees in life but this team looks terrific and can only get better.

We looked GREAT against a strong team for 2 periods. We also looked GOOD, but sloppy, in the 3rd - of course, the Finns were going for broke.

This team has bought in - blocking shots like there is no tomorrow. The D was amazing. So was the goaltending.

How could any Canadian NOT be happy after Game 1?
 
At this point, USA and Sweden tied. Canada third. Czechia above Finland without a doubt for me. Slovakia arguably above Finland too, but I probably wouldn’t go that far. Those are the medal contenders. Don’t know if Gold is in play for anyone other than the first four.

Czechs are a medal threat and shitty quarter opponent for everyone. We are not a gold threat. If we leave here with a quarter win and a medal.. I will dance naked in the streets..
 
I think this year the bottom has gotten better, outside of Khazakstan. But Germany & Lativia have held their own.

I’ve preemptively contacted the Edmonton Police Department, and warned them not to be alarmed if they get a call of a man of Czech-descent dancing naked in the streets.
