When John Hayden scored tonight he became the 8th Hawks rookie to score his 1st NHL goal this season - Hartman, Schmaltz, Hinostroza, Motte, Kero, Kempny, Forsling and Hayden. I can't recall the Hawks ever having that many rookies score their first NHL goal in a single season before.
Help me get some current and historical perspective on this. How many rookies on your team have scored their 1st NHL goal this season - or think back to a previous season when a team had a high number of rookies get their 1st goal.
Kero scored last year, but seven with Hayden is pretty good.
Last year both Chicago and Carolina had seven goal scores, for most in the league.
(Panarin, van Riemsdyk, Svedberg, Kero, Rasmussen, Mashinter, Danault; and McGinn, Hanifin, Pesce, Slavin, Di Giuseppe, Ryan, Brown respectively)
Chicago at 14 in two seasons (and that number still possibly growing) is really impressive

And so ends the regular season!
Will keep the thread going in case anyone scores their first career goal in the playoffs.
I feel like attempting to track first career playoff goal might be too much though...
