I've heard this a number of times now but haven't been able to find a link. Anyone have a link to the fact that he took a discount to play here? It's not that I don't believe it, but it's such a feel good story (given how it seems so many others wanted to skirt Toronto), that I'd like to read it.

List of things to criticize when your team is heading to the playoffs and you cant yell about them missing again

1) Has your goalie let in a goal? EVER? Even in Jr?

2) Is your "sniper" not scoring, even if hes PPG going down the stretch drive

3) ??????

4) Is your commentator messing up names of players?
 
Waiting for the game day thread, same lineup tonight or does Grabo see the press box?

I think Frattin should come in on Kadri's line with Mac.

Mcclement should centre the 3rd line with Komarov with Kulemin most likely.

Not to nitpick, but he absolutely called JVR's goal scored by Bozak. A few times actually, until he corrected himself after the replay. I don't even think Bozak was near the net.

But this is what I expect about of that tandem. They're sidetracked constantly - something that isn't new. This has happened a lot over the past few years. Missed calls happen, too.

I get why people don't like them, but it's hardly anything to cry over.

Maybe Grabo should sit for a game, he's been very ineffectual for most of this season.
 
Did RW ever have a checking line like RC uses?

I don't think I remember him using one late in games.

I haven't personally read any article that said he took a discount, however, I did read comments by several Avs fans here that said that Colorado apparently offered him a better contract but he chose Toronto. I would guess that their information comes from Avs insiders. It is plausible considering McClement said that Carlyle was a huge factor in his decision to sign with Toronto because he knew that Carlyle is a coach that values players beyond his top six and he felt confident that he would get the opportunity to be a relied upon player.

I love Bowen, however I'm not a fan of Millen.

I wish Harry Neale would have never left. Neale-Bowen were godly together.

I also don't mind the sidetrack-ness of the duo. Most of their stories are interesting and have to do with someone in the game or related to the game that is playing.

He also said "JV..Essel!!!!" on Kessels 2nd goal.
 
I love Bowen because he is the only true Leaf homer that we can listen too. It's a lot nicer than the HNIC crew.

Leafs were never leading late in games while Wilson was here.
 
Games are getting fun to attend again, it's been a long time.

You could sense the importance for both Teams and the big players all stepped up with the exception of Grabo and Richards. Grabo wasn't very good but at least noticeable, Richards I didn't notice once.

Kessel was exceptional, surprised he wasn't 1st star. He and Nash were the most dangerous players by a long shot. Phanuef was exceptional as well.

Richards played last night? You can take that as a joke but I'm being serious...I can't recall once noticing him on the ice and it isn't until you pointed him out that I realize that I hadn't even noticed if he was playing last night.
