I'm not sure about that. The Avs don't have a 3rd until 2027, but I guess the earlier of their 4th round picks might still qualify as an overpayment for Montembeault.

If the Ducks retain 50% his cap hit is $3 million something. It's hard to tell how washed he is because it's been so long since he's played behind a good defense. But I could see him regain his form for Colorado. Not his prime form mind you, but I could see it working. Georgiev would obviously need to be moved as well.
