Olympics: First 6 in your team?

Something like that. I could see Morrissey rather than Reinhart, maybe even Marner.

I was thinking Morrissey as well. Reinhart was ok at the 4 Nations but his speed isn’t great and I think they might keep the option to go in a different direction with some of the forward talent that wasn’t invited last time. Meanwhile it seems really unlikely enough guys would make a case to unseat Morrissey from the left side.

Crosby
McDavid
MacKinnon
Point
Reinhart
Makar
I don’t see reinhart as a lock. I say they give his spot to Bennington. Considering the lack of depth in goalies, Bennington winning 4 nations makes him a lock for olympics. Also by adding Bennington to the 6 players gives him a confidence boost.

I'm not American, but all I know is that Lane Hutson will be part of their first 6. One of the 3 best dmen in the world with Hughes and Makar.

He is an emerging star no doubt, but picking your top 6 isn’t exactly about picking the most talented, but out of respect. It would be a slap in the face if Hudson was picked and one of Eichel, Matthews, Hughes, Tkachuk bros and helle was not. Some of it has to do with earning your stripes. He will make it on the roster, but not as an initial 6

Czech Olympic gold at a best on best.

Tie between Czechs at world's (I love the world's) and Oilers cup.

The current dream is oil come back and win because Czechs won gold a year ago at world's.

No chance for upcoming Olympics though.. hoping to win the playin only to lose in quarter.

It will be good to see how we stand at the Olympics with the players we have so we can see where we need to get better.

I fully expect Reinhart to make the team, but Morrissey is the second best defenceman Canada has and is a certainty. If they know that Morrissey is making the team it may make sense to go with him and leave a little more flexibility at forward.

Czech guess

Pasta
Necas
Hertl
Hronek
Gudas
Dostal
Finally, Zacha and Palát instead of Hertl and Hronek. It seems a bit like an attempt to reassure Zacha that he is being counted on. We all know what problems there have been repeatedly regarding his non-participation in the championships. Rulik's decision, perhaps a bit controversial, but if he wants to give Zacha a sense of confidence, then an understandable move.
Hertl and Hronek will of course also be there.
