There is a reason McLellan got a 5-year contract. He is the last coach many of the players on this roster will have while they are with the Kings.

It helps to have the players to play that style. How many Kings players match that description? You could count on one disfigured hand with missing appendages how many Kings players are speedy and/or physical.

Personally they look a thousand times better then they did last year. NO ONE can help this team until we get better players plain and simple or our young kids develop and become what we hope they become. And that may take some time. Otherwise expect losing for a few more years. That's just the truth.

Experienced coach who has the respect of youth and vets alike teaching and tweaking systems and identifying who stays and who goes. It'll be a painful year, but those are growing pains, not groaning pains, not to be mistaken with Willie D.

It's not McLellan's fault Matt Roy puts pucks in his own net and falls down, in key battles....nor that Quick overplays angles and slides 2 feet out of position and has lost his game completely. Or that Kempe is
not a # 2 NHL center.
Honestly, he has Kopitar, Toffoli, and even Carter and Kovalchuk playing better - but it's not enough. The first period of the Flames game, they had it and looked awesome.
Speaking of Kempe not producing, Iafallo has not been producing either. It's time to put Alex on line 2. Line 2 is a mess. Make Amadio center - he's been awesome and
Lewis and Clifford are not the best finishers - but they are playing very well. I say make line 2: Iafallo / Amadio / Kovalchuk. Maybe put Brown LW and put Toffoli
back at RW 1. Line 3 Kempe Lizotte Carter ? Grundstrom looked pretty good and should be playing. Maybe he could play with Clifford and Lewis. Wagner? I don't know.
It may be best to send Bjornfot to Sweden and keep him away from this mess. He's looked good and he's also looked like he needs another year.
Mikey Anderson may actually be more ready than Tobias right now. Hard to believe Hutton has been decent and would really be bad without him.

Do you keep changing the tires on your car when you have engine problems? That's the problem the Kings have. It isn't the men in the suit and ties behind the bench that's the problem. It's the player personnel.

Campbell just played the night before. This was Quick's game, no matter what. Like when a pitcher is left in a game where he can't get any outs because the bullpen is out of gas for the night.
There's essentially nothing that could happen over the next few years that would result in TMc being fired. He could probably get into literal fist fights with Kopitar and Doughty, and still be ok.

McLellan is an okay stopgap option to bottom out with the team for 2-3 seasons, before Blake's successor replaces him with a clean sheet-coach who will lead the youth movement
