Ray used to be so much more critical of stupid play. Now everything is a good effort.
Yeah, and I remember it was only a few years back that he picked Ottawa as the team that he wanted to see win the cup that year in a discussion during an intermission of a Sabres game. I could never see that happening these days; he seems a lot different in his outlook of the team post-Pegula. Comes off as forced to me.

I love his interviews.

"Tyler, you were drafted pretty high and you're a defenseman. It looked like you were playing defense out there tonight." *sticks mic in his face*

"Thomas, sometimes the puck rolls out on the ice and it becomes harder to shoot accurately. Rolling pucks create a lot of havoc." *sticks mic in his face*

"Robyn, the game gets harder as you get older." *sticks mic in his face*

I don't think he's ever actually asked someone a question.

Paul Hamilton does this as well and it drives me nuts. Ask a question rather than telling the player what happened out on the ice. They know, they were out there playing.

He actually was making some semblance of progress over the past few years...going from always saying something stupid to occasionally making a good point...but now he's gone full Sabres cheerleader and it's pretty disappointing. He's afraid to call anyone out--hell not even the other team. Everyone's a winner with Rob Ray!

Came to post this, spot on.

Seriously, what's next. Fire Sabretooth? We must have the worst organization in hockey if a day after celebrating losing our coach cuz we blow, we're going after the color guy. Holy crap.

He's been bad all year and it has nothing to do with anyone else, whether that be Darcy, Lindy, Sabretooth or Terry.

People are simply stating that the guy sucks. You're acting as if people are blaming him for the team. It has nothing to do with the fact the Sabres are losing.

You'll have to forgive him. He's very dramatic :biglaugh:

After Scott got beat by a 2nd Leaf enforcer in a row, my "drama" about the Bruins being "scared church mice" of him is looking more and more accurate, though, isn't it?:snide::snide:

...and Ray does suck, we knew that before today's thread brought it to light. haha

Bring back Harry Neale. I enjoyed all of his little stories and he is a living legend like RJ. Rob Ray was good when he was in between the benches but the guy is always tabbed out.

Fire Doug Allen :sarcasm:

But yeah he's terrible. Remember when we got to hear Robitaille rip the team in between every period? I'd rather that than this clearly wrong puff.

I could actually get behind firing Doug Allen.

Can he sing the national anthems? Yes
Does he sing them well? Yes

Then why would I want to see him gone?
Everytime he does that stupid point to the crowd and camara at the end of the Star Spangled Banner I want to break his finger. JUST SING THE DAMN SONG!!!

That said, I really don't know why the pointing annoys me so much.:p:

Yea seriously, remeber he works for the sabres so he can't rip them a new one after every loss because he has to see a product. I am so sick of player/former players in the organization acting like they are getting something out of these losses, like "we played a solid 3rd period, and we can hopefully carry it over in next game" or "we lost the game, but we showed a lot of grit against a good team" ............i just want to say to STEVE OTT "YOU TOOK NOTHING AWAY FROM THIS GAME EXCEPT FOR A MISSED OPPORTUNITY TO GET POIINT, THAT IS IT, NOTHING ELSE FROM THI GAME WILL HELP YOU WIN THE NEXT ONE"

I'm laughing at this too!!
You shut your damn mouth.

That time he talked about buying the players beer, that was the best part of that game! I'm completely serious.
Loved that story. Harry Neale is like your uncle who, now that you're an adult, will tell you adult stories of all the adult things that happened around you growing up as a kid that you didn't see because you only had kid eyes.
