Necas isn’t a center in the NHL. Just because he was one at some point doesn’t mean he is now.

Nope, he's not. But if he can play the position for a game or two and get a little more juice going, shouldn't we be willing to at least try it here.
Same with Drury. I mean... he's definitely a center, but he's not a 2C. However, we should be trying him like hell there as well to see if he can do the job for a bit.
Mitts is drowning and is pulling his linemates down with him. I do not know what his problem is (is he hiding an injury? did his mind leak out of his ear one night while sleeping?) but we can't continue to wait for him to figure out in the 2C spot.
We can either continue to struggle with him as 2C, or we can see if the struggle is a bit less with someone else pitching in for the time being. Neither Necas or Drury should be considered a long term solution for 2C, but if either can get that line to do more than it currently is, we should be all for it.
They could see if Necas can elevate Mitts like he did KK. That at the very least needs to be tried.
I'll admit, the thought of Nuke - Mack and Necas together on the ice is fun tho.

How hard do you think it would be to get rid of Colton and Wood?
Do you not think a team like Chicago, Columbus, Philly etc would want them?
I could see Chicago liking them in return for Jones possibly, but they key would be a 1st, Ritchie, etc. Colton and Wood I can definitely be seen as a return offsetting some salary. But we don't need to trade these guys for players necessarily, we may actually need the cap space (meaning picks and prospects rather than salaried NHL players), especially if we go after Jones and/or another 2C.
I think Wood would be more problematic to trade due to his recent acknowledgement that his back is screwed for life. But Colton could still hold some value. Especially for a bottom feeder, but he'd have to waive.
Colton is the problematic one. Full NTC, and cold as ice
. I guess NJ is looking for a center/wing utility guy though. He's from NJ.
That's why we bring it up.
