I won't lie... I gave in and watched that game lmao I just can't get the Avs out of my life if they're playing that night. Zero willpower.
Thought that was Sam Malinski's best game in months. Truly since like October. Finally did good things with the puck and wasn't a sieve defensively. Also didn't mind Kylington and it's clear he fits what this team likes to do WAY more than De Haan and Middleton.
Speaking of De Haan, good lord this is a bad hockey player. I don't know how he gets an NHL contract next season but there isn't a team in the league that should be employing this guy.
Top line was utterly dominant tonight. Role reversal from the Canucks game where they dominated the 1st but went quiet the rest of the game. Tonight they were quiet in the 1st but dominated the 2nd and 3rd.
Colton, Parssinen, and Wood all played below 10 minutes tonight. Parssinen to be expected because Bednar can't stand him even though - again - I see things on a shift-by-shift basis that I really, really like from this player and Bednar is seeing things that he absolutely despises. He skates very well, he gets pucks deep, he wins battles, he makes really good passes in tight spaces. I don't get Bednar's hatred of him.
Anyways, overall numbers tonight:
Shot Attempts 69-50 Avalanche
Shots on Goal 34-29 Avalanche
Scoring Chances 29-18 Avalanche
High Danger Chances 16-4 Avalanche, only 3 HDC given up at 5v5.
xGF 4.19 - 2.18 Avalanche
