Two critical critical gaffes. It was felt that Perry's accidental interface with John Tavares would be bad for team chemistry if Dubas signed Corey Perry.
Well, just a huge mistake, anyone who has followed this guys career before and lately can see he has gotten healthy and inspired in the past two years.
A former Team Canadian star player, now slightly diminished, but really really big, really really competitive and just way, way better than the toy store wannabes like Simmonds and all the other semi tough turkeys we signed.
Tremendous signing by Tampa, and it should have been us.
Also, we had a young emerging star in Liljegren who can pass for miles, right on the stick and Keefe substitued him for a guy who can barely make a pass twenty feet.
Just a terrible gaffe by Keefe who was completely outcoached. By a coach I love and admire, Jon Cooper.
Cooper's bottom line philosophy? Pretty simple, he wants a team as tough as the Philadelphia Flyers from the 70's and as skilled as the Edmonton Oilers from the 80's.
On top of that, unlike Keefe the guy doesn't curse and swear like a drunken sailor all game long, where spectators are embarassed to take their kids to any seats within eardrop of the Leaf bench.
We lost the series by one goal and of course we lost that goal because Holl was a subtle as a moose in a china shop with his stupid interference.
I love Dubas, but Keefe has to get the chop. Bring in someone else, the next Jon Cooper.
They are out there, not a dime a dozen of course, but they are out there.
Putting in Holl, was disgraceful
Tampa is currently toying with Florida, as they should.
I said it all season long, The Maple Leafs were and are the best team in the NHL overall.
But we have a coach who gets outcoached and outclassed regularly.
Off with his head and lets nail the Cup next year.
