So by this logic than Kassians deal was a fair deal because chia offered it? Are you really comparing a consistent 100 point former hart winner to a guy with less than 60 career points at the time? Holloway was a great young player on the rise but north of 2 million was not a fair deal at the time.If someone's willing to pay it then it's fair. The offer sheet is just a way of forcing something to happen, and is actually better for the team than the player holding out and missing games/training camp. If I recall correctly, Holloway himself was shocked that it wasn't matched - he wasn't trying to leave the team, just get a better deal. If that's putting yourself before the team, then Draisaitl did the same thing when he negotiated his new contract, and Nurse is basically a traitor.
