Proposal: Fire Jeff Jackson

If someone's willing to pay it then it's fair. The offer sheet is just a way of forcing something to happen, and is actually better for the team than the player holding out and missing games/training camp. If I recall correctly, Holloway himself was shocked that it wasn't matched - he wasn't trying to leave the team, just get a better deal. If that's putting yourself before the team, then Draisaitl did the same thing when he negotiated his new contract, and Nurse is basically a traitor.
So by this logic than Kassians deal was a fair deal because chia offered it? Are you really comparing a consistent 100 point former hart winner to a guy with less than 60 career points at the time? Holloway was a great young player on the rise but north of 2 million was not a fair deal at the time.

Crazy how every poster that was stoked with Jackson’s free agency and calling it the summer of Jackson are now against him.

Almost like HF posters also wouldn’t make good GM’s like they think they would.

That was very much before Holloway and Bro left. The vibe shifted almost immediately when most people realized we were getting just Skinner + Arvy not Skinner + Arvy + Holloway + Bro

We let Bob Nicholson hold on for too long and he likely costed us multiple Cups by hiring Peter Chiarelli, then Ken Holland, over Bill Zito. Jeff Jackson's dog shit offseason that resulted in Arvidsson, Henrique, and Skinner, while costing us Holloway and Broberg, is a fireable offense on its own. Get out ahead of the oncoming disaster before we make more Trent Frederic type blunders.
oh f*** off.

Holloway loved it here though and was from Alberta. Letting him go for a perceived $500k overpayment was very dumb
The flip side of that is obviously if Holloway loved it here as much as you say he did why did he sign an OS for a ‘perceived $500k underpayment’? Seems kind of dumb. Or maybe he was just so tight with Broberg that he wanted to help a brother out? Or maybe he didn’t have enough confidence in himself/was worried about his injury history? Or maybe he just wasn’t as happy in Edmonton as some people want to spin it?

Jeff Jackson or Bowman. Who was responsible for making the call on Holloway and Broberg ? Fireable offense.

Basically pissed away Leons sidekick on the second line moving forward.
