I sometimes wonder how this Oiler organization evaluates the performance of a guy like Dustin Schwartz. Doesn't make any sense how a guy like himself is able to survive through so many goalie and coaching changes.

The Oilers are not going anywhere until goaltending in all areas including coaching is addressed.

I am amused how many people are coming off as if they sack this guy and Skinner becomes Ken Dryden over night

What are you taking about? Nobody expects or thinks Skinners gonna be the next Ken Dryden once Schwartz gets cut. Thats just hyperbole nonsense. It’s more so about this incompetent shitbag of a goalie coach who’s been here since 2014, and the resume of awful goaltenders under his coaching speaks volume. I don’t know why you always try to get into this conversation just like how you had to be a buzz kill in the Emberson thread.

Its truly comical. Hes a bad goalie with bad skill & athleticism.
Yeah, its Schwartz fault that he's shit.
Too funny

Schwartz should be fired but yeah Skinner probably wouldn't be great anywhere. He's an unathletic goalie who can have the odd good game here and there and should be a back up goalie.

Dubnyk had middling skill and athleticism and still cut a good career out for himself, he was a big goalie that played big, had a knack for anticipating the play, and being square to the shooter.

Like evaluating Skinner's game tonight was he getting torched cause of bad skill or athleticism? From what I seen he wasn't tracking the puck, he didn't anticipate the play, and his rebound control was abysmal. It wasn't cause of a lack of lateral agility or reflexes.

Also I call bullshit on the whole premise that the goalie coach not being super important, just look at the histories of Mitch Korn, Ian Clark, and Benoit Allaire (two of his pupils in Sean Burke and Bob Essensa appear to be very good goalie coaches in their own right).
