Proposal: Fire DeBoer

Those lines choices are just ridiculous
Play youre Best with youre Best players
Hintz should be with Rantanen
If you loose so be it ….
I’d pair Rantanen with Johnston and let Hintz and Robo continue what they’re capable of; hope to see them two together next season.

I want Mikko paired with Johnston. Just not with Benn.
Agree'd

Benn's play this year is eerily similar to Pavelski's last year, where it's clear that he just doesn't have it anymore and needs to be demoted, but Deboer doesn't have the balls to do it.

I think if we end up getting destroyed in the 1st round this year, there's a good chance he'll get fired. Nill isn't going anywhere though, zero chance he gets let go

I don't know. This season was quite a big swing with some massive contracts signed this year. I don't think Colorado being a real Cup contender would make a first round exit (and the loss of additional playoff revenue) something Gaglardi can accept.

I guess we don't know how much the Rantanen trade was something Nill really wanted to do or whether it was ordered by Gaglardi once the Stars found out he was available.

Nill has been a good soldier who has put up with some real stupid stuff from Gaglardi (the Hitchcock hiring and telling Lites to go insult their two highest paid players). Nill is also a wonderful guy with immense respect around the league. But if Gaglardi is super disappointed in an early exit, I would think a change wouldn't look like your normal firing but more like a retirement or a promotion out of the GM role.

I am fine with Deboer being let go. I don’t think he is the answer. Unfortunately I don’t know if there is an answer with some of the players on this team.

Gonna bring back this gem from Reddit.

Compare DeBoer telling his players to be butter-soft because "they're not built for that" with Maurice wanting his players to "pound their f***ing D, so in game seven, they got nothing left!" Which coach do you think is actually capable of winning a Cup?

We can't complain about players being too soft or not having what it takes until they get a proper warrior for a coach who knows what it takes to win it all and will have his players doing whatever they need to do to win. Should've never hired him, should've fired him last spring and got Berube, should fire him now and get someone/anyone who will enforce team toughness before DeBoer neuters Bischel into Oleksiak 2.0.

Well, we also saw Brind'Amour rip his guys for not standing up for Aho. He wanted them to get more physical. They kinda were in their last two games. The result: out in five.

The roster kinda is what it is. I don't like the way they ignored Bouchard's slash on Hintz, but I also realize there aren't any physical forwards on the team. Even if they want to go throw around more checks, they aren't going to be a punishing forecheck. Robertson is probably their hardest hitting forward simply because he's the most solid fireplug of a guy, but he's also not the guy who plays that game.

Ahh yes this proper warrior of a coach who definitely had a strong reputation of knowing what it took to win it all.

Is Maurice not a guy that often got criticism everywhere he was for leaning way too much on vets? Most of the story before he was hired by the Panthers was he was a coach that either couldnt make the playoffs or get over the hump when it mattered lmao.

Not sure how a warrior of a coach is going to help the team generate more scoring chances. They got basically nothing done in the last ten minutes of the final game when they should have generated the most push. Clearly the strategy is lacking in terms of offense if this roster cannot generate more chances.

So now DeBoer refuses to accept responsibility for the loss and is shitting on his goalteneder - gosh, where have I seen this before...oh right, he did the same thing in Vegas, got replaced by a better coach, and then they won a Cup.

It's a lot harder to play great team D in Game 5 when most of the team is nursing an injury (or not even in the lineup) because you pounded them repeatedly in the earlier games. Meanwhile, the way the Stars play, Draisaitl ended the series looking healthier than he did in Game 1.
